are rpg invading our anime?

Anime & RPG have a strange relationship.

Some/most anime get their video games, anime that are about conflicts, battles and saving the world are perfect candidates to become RPG's.

And some RPG's and other types of video games have been made into anime series.

Look at Final Fantasy Unlimited, great anime based on concepts found through the FF game series. 8)


As long as the game and the anime are good it's fine by me.

Well, Lodoss Wars reminded me of a roleplay, too.

You do know that was intentional, right? When I watched Lodoss, it pretty much got the impression that it was modeled on D&D.

Would it be cool a rk rpg? Using Kenshi, Sano, Kaoru and the rest to rescue the world, to defeat the evil whoever and rescue the entire humanity (like in those old snes games).......nahhhhhhh, i don't think so

Actually, there was a Kenshin RPG for PSX. I don't know much about it, though.

Yeah...it seems if an anime gets popular enough, they'll find some way to tie it into an RPG...

Hell, even Evangelion (granted it was part of Super Robot Wars which actually encompasses, to use a technical term, an assload of different mecha titles)

Ironically enough, one of the only titles coming to mind that hasn't been turned into an RPG, in spite of the ease with which it could be made RPG, would be Bastard!! (in turn though, that DID manage to pull off an interesting fighting game)

Was there really a Kenshin Rpg? For what, snes or smt like that?
I saw only rpgs with dbz, yu-ghi-oh, sailor moon.
But if the rpg is good, the story is good, the gameplay and graphics are cool, hell, they could make turn any anime into a rpg game for all i care, just to fill those boring hours, when i have nothing to do......

if you guys are wondering what animes are rpg like oddly enough noone mentions DragonPink considering its intro shows the creations of the characters now if that aint an anime/rpg i dont know what is

In the case of Pokemon, it`s really messed up. It was originally a game, then it became a TV show. Then, based on the anime that was already based on a game, they made another game (Pokemon Yellow). Then, every new version of the game rendered a new season for the anime, but it was originally a game. And the movies, too, are usually based on "special" pokemon that are supposedly hard to find in the game. However, the truth is that they are unfindable and can only be achieved on special Nintendo events. All to make you buy tickets to those lame events.

It was SNES...played a little of it a while back...not too bad, if only for the opportunity to get a little more of the series backstory

It was SNES...played a little of it a while back...not too bad, if only for the opportunity to get a little more of the series backstory

There was also a Lodoss game for the Dreamcast. It played like Diablo.
