Otakon 2004 AMV Contest Finalists

I might not be able to make the con this year. I just found out my grandmother who I am very close to had to go to the hospital. And we just found out she has a tumar. We don't know what type or how bad it is? We're still waiting to see what type of operation needs to be done or not? I'm praying that she'll make it through this. If all goes well I still should be at the convention. I'll keep you all informed.

Update

My grandmother is okay for the time being but we don't know for how long? The tumar is to big to remove and it was preventing her from eating and now they have to insert a tube so she can eat. My grandmother doesn't know that the tumar is too big for an operation. My farther talked to her asking if she wanted the whole family to come up and she said no that she wanted us to continue and have fun and not let this worry us. She doesn't want me to miss something I've been working towards for the past year. And yet I say that she is more important than anything else in the world to me. What do I do? My grandmother doesn't want me to come up there for it would make her unhappy. But yet it is going to hurt me knowing that she is up there in pain, and she could go at anytime. I need some help. Do I go up there and make her unhappy because I wanted to see her again. Or stay down here in Maryland?

If I do stay down here I'll go up the following weekend praying to god it isn't to late.

Hey hey, I've got an idea:

All the contest finalists who can actually appear @ the con should all get together someday @ the convention. I sure as heck would like to meet a few specific creators, namely Mr. Millberry (Aluminum Studios) and GeneStarwind (I gotta thank you in person for your opinion for my Drama/Serious entry).

Anyone up for it? Just a thought

I'm not sure what is exactly is going on right now it is my grandmother's wish that I go to Otakon and have fun but my gutt just can't live with that. I'll inform you guys of my decision later on this week. So I'm planning as if I was still actually going to be there. I'm probably sure that ANTDrakko you can join Vlad, Dwchang and I at the contest showing and all sit together.

Come to the AMV panel @ 10:00 on Sat. morning. Last year most of the creators at the con showed up and we took some big group pictures afterwards and a bunch of us went out to lunch together. It was a good time and I hope it happens that way again.

Well, Actually I hope that after the panel some of you will actually come to the Miyazaki Panel I'm doing at 1:00 pm before going to lunch

While we're pimping panels and such - I am doing a Japanese writing workshop @ 3:00 on Friday. It will be an intro to the Japanese written language for people who have never studied Japanese and don't really understand how the writing system works. Please stop by!
