i just got a new computer and i want to put all my dvd's on to my computer but i only have windows movie maker 1 and it wont let me "save" the clips from the movies. anybody know how i could do that?

And for more in depth information: DVD-decrypter,DGMPEGDec., Avi-synth, VirtualDub, Premiere and finish it off with eighter TMPGEnc. or VirtualDub again

If by "DGMPEGDec" you mean "DGMPEGDec in conjunction with AVISynth, AND DGIndex/DVD2AVI", then yes.

I also must suggest the relevant sections of <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... >EADBAG</a>. They explain the process about as clearly as you could want.

Just be sure to resize things to 640x480, as WMM1 will do funky things with footage that's not 4:3 square pixels (like resize down keeping proportions and then letterbox to fit).

wmm does strange things to everything i put into it, 320x240, 640x480, 720x480, divx, mpeg, huffyuv, dv :?

If you give it DVD footage, or DV or lossless AVI footage, at 29.97fps, and resize it to 640x480, it shouldn't give you any trouble...

i use vegas actually, but sometimes i just want a quick capture from dv cam and encode to dv/avi and WMM STILL CRASH :evil:

Doesn't Vegas capture from DV cams? :roll:

yeah but wmm fires up faster than vegas capture + vegas 4 i have to open up two programs to capture and encode but i only need to open one program for wmm... then again with all the time i spend to get wmm to work i couldve just fired up vegas capture and vegas 4 :roll:
