Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Reprise - Hellsing Tourniquet

Post by Midnyte » Mon Jul 12, 2004 3:23 pm

Serious / Action / Drama
This is a Reprise (revised edition) to the video I did earlier this year..
No one gave any comments... I guess they didn't know what to say.. Anyway, many technical corrections to syncs and other stuff fixed. Changed lighting to help set mood better.

But seriously, I would like some feedback on this video.

Whoa, I really liked that, but there were definately many things that could be improved upon. For example, the Midnyte text throughout the video was WAY distracting and repetative, I would've gotten rid of it and just left the bumpers for letting us know who made it. Secondly, the lip sync felt unneccessary, and a little extra tweaking of the sylable matching would've helped. Also the video quality was a bit low, not unwatchably so, but a higher quality xvid version would've been nice.

I really liked your scene selection though, outside of the parts where people's mouths were moving. Overall, that was a very deep peice of work with excellent imagery for the music.

I do agree, the lip sync is the hardest thing to do.. Especially where the entire sceen is moving. And I have yet to get it right. But that's why I keep trying it. (and haven't listed it as a lip sync)

Unfortunately all the hacks around here that resuse others footage make watermarking a nessecity. ?? Video quality low? it's higher then that of the actual anime. Even the high res streched to 1280 x 1024 yeilds no major blockies. maybe your Xvid codec is messing up the WMV9?? or you viewed the low res? I do post 2 versions the 1600Kbps is the High RES version the 768Kbps is the low RES.

I disagree about watermarking being neccessary, given that you're one of the only people I've ever seen doing it  . As for the quality, I'm refering more to the typical color bleeding you get from wmv codecs, which was a constant throughout even the high res version of the vid. But in all seriousness I'm not saying that the quality was poor, just that it could've been tweaked. Look for an op on this soon.

Umm.. I dont know.. I somehow liked it, but then again there was something that disturbed me.
I agree with SSJVegita0609, you`r name flying there was really annoyng. I understand you thought, I was the same when I started, but you could but a little text in the lower right corner if you dont want to take off the watermark. The video quality was good  nothing to blame there.

Well, that is a pretty good video, gongrats ^^ It gave me a new picture of the series.

I see it.. And done, hope everyone reads it.

SSJVegita0609, As far as color "bleeding" goes.. I don't see it. Could you post a screenshot pointing it out?

I've seen way too many stolen clips to just be thinking it.
I don't like putting out just dinky 320x240's.. If that's All I did, I wouldn't worry about watermarking either. But as is maid very apperent from this op.. clip thieves are alive and well.
