Bakadeshi [AuN Studios] wrote:Jasper: er... Not sure what you mean with the bumpers for the DVD. I was just going to have Rose4emily send me the narative segments in huffy when he finished them, complete with your bumpers in them already. If its going to be done the same way.
I was only worried because most of the bumpers have text that goes right up to the edge of the screen, which pushes them into the overscan area of the television when played on DVD. Unless TMPGEnc has some kind of encoding function that keeps the screen out of overscan areas, I think you'll have to manually add a border around the narratives/bumpers. I wouldn't worry about the actual amv because well, that would just be too much work.

Of course since I'm remaking the bumpers with real names (can you send me a list?) I could just keep the text away from the edge of the screen. But then it would make everything really squished, especially for long titles like "Requiem for a Nightmare."

Ehh. :dilemma:

Jasper-Isis wrote:Yes, I'm aware of Chris Nguyen's org nickname, but all of the tentative tracklists that I've seen use his real name. I know that having the real name would make it stick out a little, but IMO, "aznraver1022" would stick out even more. Now what does Chris think?
Uh, use anything but aznraver1022. Seriously it's the dumbest name ever, but it's what i started out with like 3 years ago. You can just use "Chris" i guess... or "mizdahsparklez" (that's my AIM name).

As for the monologue, I will submit one as soon as i can write a decent one.

Alright, here's my shot at a monologue:
When creating this piece a parallel between “Edward Scissorhands” and “Spirited Away” was used to become the epitome for “A Boy I Knew…”

At the heart, “Edward Scissorhands” is about a young girl who becomes enchanted by a mysterious stranger’s unearthly ability to bring beauty and love into her life. Their story ended too soon as the young girl and the stranger were torn apart, never able to see each other again. Similarly, “Spirited Away” illustrates a friendship that ultimately ended as a priceless memory.

Danny Elfman, who has written hundreds of scores for various movies, wrote this finale piece for “Edward Scissorhands” in 1990. The most remarkable aspect of this composition is its ability to tell a story in and of itself. Everything from the choral elements to the boy’s chorus exemplifies this magnificent fairy tale. Danny Elfman couldn’t describe it better himself:

"...if there's one thing I really love... it's sad music."
Feel free to tell me what needs fixing or any ideas.

the first sentence seems phrased oddly, specifically the phrase "was used to become" - you usually don't use something for it to become something else. also, 'epitome' might not be the right word. maybe 'archetype' or 'foundation' would work better. so my suggestion would be "When creating this piece, a parallel between “Edward Scissorhands” and “Spirited Away” was used as the foundation for “A Boy I Knew…”

the rest of the monologue sounds good.

What's the difference between PNG-8 and PNG-24, and which format should I compress the new bumpers to?

I'll try to have my narratives done by tonight.

It sounds like a color depth difference. If that's the case, higher numbers are better for your use.

Rose4: I've uploaded all the new bumpers and Forbidden Memories pictures to your ftp (in a zip).
Forbidden Memories wrote:Love is freedom. Love can be hopeful, liberating, innocent, frail, and longing. Love threatens to break us apart but promises to build us into something new. Love lets us escape from our oppressors. And for these reasons, love is often forbidden.

[image 1]She came into his life like a gently falling star and melted away the winter in his soul. She accepted him for who he was, even after she discovered [image 2] his secret. Through their love, he felt like he had finally been released [image 3] from his loneliness. But his freedom was not eternal. Fate [image 4] forced them apart, and all that remained [slight pause] were their [image 5] forbidden memories. [Fade to bumper?]

From the yearning lyrics of Jim Croce to Van Craven's haunting piano redemption [right word?], the song "Time in a Bottle" carries with it a bittersweet message. Happy scenes accompany sad melodies, while happy melodies complement sad rememberings. This [very slight pause] is the story of a tragic, broken love.
I know it's sappy. Don't blame me. Blame Moulin Rouge.

On the instrumentality page, it says this
@Creators: Please submit 720X480 renders to Bakadeshi's FTP server
what is that?
