not the right place, but you can always wish it were

I don't think so, considering this is an anime-based site, there probably won't be any game stuff in general here. yeah its kinda of a bum deal, but people here are strict ass mofos when it comes to anime-only issues.
I would know that with a forum i started with doom 3 vids, and all you get is vicous mean nasty replies en such like "anime or get lost" then when you say, "if i mix anime with it?" "get lost, its anime or highway!" so to bad for you, but if things change and they start acceptin game footage vids, you might strike your gold, but that will be a long while now here in this place...

go to :
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/search/supersearch.php

and type warcraft in the anime field.
There are some results (currently 15), and some of them are downloadable (currently 10)

However, what MikaelJuha said is quite true, this site is not really made for video game footage, so that's probably not the place where you'll find many war3 videos.

more than likely this is due to the sheer number of people that keep insisting on this topic after phade already made it clear, that his website will only be anime based. Hence its gotten tiresome for them to keep explaining it over and over and over again. I've only been here a about half a year, and seen this topic addressed about 6 different times already. imagine those who have been here for years ;p

Hello,

I may be coming into this conversation a little late, but I wanted to say something if I may.

It is true this site is for anime AMVs and I personally love that, however, it's not completely true that that's all that's posted on this site. There are game videos (ex. FF series, Kingdom Hearts, etc) whose in-game CG have spawned numberous AMV even though those videos (in my opinion) are no more anime then in game CG from games like Doom3 or Warcraft 3. I have even seen a video for Terminator 3 posted on this site.

Also, when posting a video on this board, under the anime section, they have a few non-anime shows and movies listed. When attempting to add a new anime, examples of how to do so include how to post videos for sources such as Batman and Deus Ex, which are, themselves, not anime.

The way it appears to me, from what I have seen posted and through examples given on this site while posting information, that the rules allow for a broad range of source materials to be used in AMVs on this site, and not just those of the strict anime sense.

In my opinion, those that get very angry over videos posted to this site should either:
A) Complain to the web masters
B) Just not watch the video
C) Actually read the rules for the full explination of whats really allowed.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Thank you for your time.

You see your wrong on that part, they are pretty much anime because they are made by Japanese animators.

There is still a difference...

Final Fantasy CGs were created by Japanese Animators and those music videoa are allowed on the site.

However, Games that really resemble close to nothing of the anime genre (wc3, Diablo, whatever) are not allowed on the site locally.

Even though they may have been created by japanese animators. :o

Think about it..... *Anime* music videos .org .... if it is anime (DBZ, Boogiepop Phantom, Akira) or has an anime-esque apperance (FF series, Xenogears) then it is fair game for the site. Caveat: there should be Japanese design somewhere involved.

If it is blatently *not* anime (Hollywood movies, sports) and has no anime influence (Diablo, Warcraft, Typing games) then it has no place anywhere near the Org.

Apply the litmus test that is called 'common sense'.... would you try to upload an Angelic Layer AMV to a site called ESPNSports.org? Then don't bring non-anime to Animemusicvideos.

True enough, I grant you, however, from what I have seen on this site, there are some videos that appear to contradict these rules, defying, in my view, the litmus test, as mentioned.

For instance, this site being devoted to anime, why would sources such as, say, "Batman" (movie or TV series) be allowed to be listed as an AMV or AMV source material, whether or not the video itself resides on the servers, given the known fact that Batman in most, if not all, forms is american and clearly not an anime.

This, to my common sense, would seem to me to allow for an opening for anyone with a big enough server space to start flooding this site with non-anime "AMV"s souly due to the fact that the rules, as I'm getting them from this site and my fellow AMV watchers/producers, allow them as long as they are not stored on the server.

And this is only dealing with "AMV"s for which the source material is movies and TV shows such as the afore mentioned "Batman". We must then consider the fact that there is a lot of animation work being done which equals, in a lot of ways, the styles and the complexeties found in japaneese animation making distictions between these sources difficult.

Lastly, I would like to mentions a group (while possibly really small) of american, or more generally any non-japanese, who create their own "anime" using the styles and techniques found in that classification of animation. Are we to classify these sources as non-anime just on the soul reason that the artist is not from japan?

Forgive me, but I am confused as to what is anime for you given these observations. I would not consider "Batman" an anime, nor would I consider your previously mentioned ESPN sports anime, litmus being my guide. However, I could find, with not guilt, animation such as Warcraft 3 or Doom 3 placed on this site under the title AMV along side such great footage as found in the FF series, Kingdom Hearts (BTW, at least half of the basis of those CG are american based, reguardless of the animators place of origin), Crono Cross, and other titles of the like.

God bless japan for giving us a high standard for animation, and god bless Disney for helping to evolve the form we call anime, but, again in my opinion, we may need to review the rules of this site, which suggests that we can list "AMV"s based on hollywood movies and ESPN so long as it's housed on a different server, because, as I see it, reguardless of whos housing these videos, we, more or less, see them all equally.

Forgive this long speech of mine, and thank you for your time.

the uploading mainly relys on the honor system. the PHP cannot stop you from uploading those types of videos, but if you would like to point some of those videos out to a mod, he/she would glady remove them, if they are uploaded locally. :)
