Three main reasons -

1)This is a catelogue of music videos, and hentai is a legitimate category that would be useful in classifying the videos listed here.

2)It would let people search by 'hentai' as the category the same way they search for 'action.' [Note: This isn't something the admins want, so this is why it probably won't be added.]

3)So people can discount 'hentai' vids and not stumble onto them when doing general searches. You can do a search and discount vids by category (using the - sign). If hentai were a category, you could avoid them when doing searches. It would also open possibilities of moving those 'adult' videos out of sight of minors through a filtering system - which is the reason hentai vids are not allowed on local - they aren't appropriate for the site any more than non-anime vids are.

Okay, i need clarification here: Let's say bubbajoebob makes a AMV from hentai sources, but without anything sexual (seen it once, crappy quality) would that be banned from the server because of the source of the footage?

I totally agree that a raw hentai video (sex, tentacles, and all those 'wet shots') should not be allowed. that isn't a vid, it's an ode to teenage otaku masturbatory desire.

I have no objection to somthing like that if it can't be searched for, but I'd need to think about how to implement it. We'll see.

Yeah I think we should be able to do the standard ratings on our video. For example, I just finished a berserk drama video that is certanly rated R. ...Most of my video are actualy. (which surprises me) But I think my "just the way they are" video is a Pg13. I don't think anyone really needs that at the moment, as 13 year olds mostly will still watch R movies, and in a lot of cases even make them, but it might be something that can save your ass later on.

The ratings ideal is interesting yes, but isn't this the internet? I don't mean to be so harsh, but when you're online, you can be any age and see almost anything to a certain extent. Then you got those vids that make fun of previews to movies, how do you treat those? But if this site is to go into the realms of *cough* porn, it might get bad porn, like child porn and crap that would kinda ruin it if such things were thus enabled for hentai to be on it. Although if its hentai, you can't really tell if the characters are children or not, but just that thought is kinda spookey to me. Other than that, a ratings ordeal might help to regulate that problem, just becarefull! I love this site and I like things clean, but if ya want the darker or if you prefer, the lighter realms of footage to be on this site, knock yourself out!

Hm, I'm against the addition of Hentai to this site. If someone wants that, there are plenty of other places to go, so it isn't something that's particularly needed at this site.

Hentai (変態) is Japanese animation ("anime") or comic-book-style magazines ("manga") with explicit sexual content.

So yeah...its a genre.

But with the icing you must take the cake as well, if you were to put Hentai as a category up there then people would assume(if they knew what it meant) that there would be sexual explicat scenes or actions in the AMV and so since alot of people don't want hentai up including the current holders/owners/tempory-guardian(S) of the servers, etc. this won't be possible as a category.

Also you can't have a category saying "This AMV has scenes from a hentai movie and/or episode."

1. Its to long.
2. Its stupid.
3. Again people will think you've got sexual content in there and if parents catch there kids viewing this stuff and see the warning, AMV can and will expect lawsuits coming there way for letting children be exposed to such things.

The best thing to do right now is just warn people in your description and in your AMV announcement post that your AMV has hentai in it.

I agree. One of the reasons why I love this site is because it's decent. There's also a lot of kids using this site, and I really don't think we should promote these kinds of vids to them. And even if they're not "hardcore", do you really want 12 year-olds looking up hentai here?
