Avatar titles redux

I had wondered how to get one of those 'cool' nicknames I keep seeing above peoples avatars and went searching. (YES! I CAN read old posts! 8) )

Judging by a previous entry, it looks like something that only gets assigned by the mods.

(Presuming that the post was serious. I can never tell around here.) Is there any way to get one by being nice and asking?

Well I got mine because I spammed too much in the old OT forums. The others have them because they're all Mr. Poopy Pants.

Once again I ask: will the Recovering OT Junkie titles ever actually go away? You'd think that, by now, all the junkies who are regularly active on this forum would have made enough non-OT posts to have lost the titles by now (viz. enough to bring the OT part of their posts below half of their total).

Phade explained the method he used to assign the titles, but was it just a one-time calculation? I had assumed it would be constantly updating and the junkies would lose their titles when they passed the 50% non-OT mark.

Also, this isn't the first time I've asked this question... hopefully I may actually get a response this time...

I'm afraid it was just a one-time calculation, yes.

As it happens a lot of people still havent got more posts in other forums. However, I'm happy to remove the title for anyone who asks. I'm not going to give the title out to anyone else, though.

As for titles, I'm going to have to put my foot down here. There's hundreds of people use this forum and each title has to be put in individually. The forum admins (all 3 of us) do not have the free time to add titles to people's account in order for them to look cool.

It's happened in the past but there are no guarantees that it will happen again.

Not quite; normal mods can't assign titles. Only admins...
