French Iron Chef - Kragdrim VS WilLoW

Post by WilLoW :--) » Sun Jun 27, 2004 7:17 am

This was a fun contest with rules that are slightly different from what the Iron chef contests use to be.

Music announced 5 minutes before the contest
24 hours to make an AMV to this music and upload it somewhere
Each participant takes the anime(s) of his/her choice.

The music was chosen by Atvaark (Ambroise) : Lowride by Autechre
The judges were Atvaark, Tyler, and Wunjo

Here are the videos :

Enjoy

Jesus Willow! That's meant to be an iron chef entry? I know it was over 24 hours, but still, WTF?!? It rocks! Gotta love the baseline syncing to the red traffic light (mmm subwoofer) and the piano blurs and disco ball section.

Haven't got Kragdrim's yet, but I'm expecting to love it cuz of the yummy Frenchness. MMmmmm. To be fair tho, can't really go wrong with Autechre.

That was some really great work, both of you. I liked willow's more, the effort he spent seems to be higher (Maybe Kragdrim simply underesteminated you in this point, heh heh). And a great piece of music :)

I'm just imaging what these 24 hours must've been like... no sleep, no meals, just pure editing? :P
/me feels the urge to try out :)

pretty awesome vids for 24 hours, mustve been editing nonstop, Pepsi co. mustve made a good fortune off of you 2 that day ;p

I like Willows better, probably because the song better fit the show. I think Krag put himself at a disadvantage choosing laputa for this. Considering what he was able to do with it though is impressive. especially his scene placement. I just liked willows better.

Thanks a lot everyone :D

And no, we both slept something like 5-6 hours 8)
And yeah, I wish I had some pepsi in my fridge, but I didn't.
Well I drank tea

And for those who wanna try it, hehe just gotta learn french and join the forums at amvdefans.com or the irc channel of fantasy-movies.net :P
(or of course I bet you can also try it with your friends  )

the 24 hours duration allows such a contest to be international, unlike 3 hour contests. We'll try to think about it !

(btw, in my video, try to spot Luc the geek )
