Speaking as someone that has also gone to E3 as well as anime conventions...I don't go to E3 to watch and participate in anime-related endeavors nor do I go to anime conventions to find out the latest happenings in the gaming industry.
I think by its name "AnimeMusicVideos.org", it seems pretty clear-cut what this site is about. The general definition of anime can be disputed but OUR current definition is animation created in Japan. This includes game animation and gameplay footage from games also created in Japan, but does not include those created outside of Japan.
Call it close-minded or what have you, but that is the short of it. There is plenty of japanese animation to create music videos with and for those that would like one website that encompasses every possible hobby that you might enjoy, forget it. We're not Walmart and we don't intend to be. The purpose of this site is to catalog all anime music videos, but if your video doesn't contain any anime at all, it does not belong here.
This site exists because one person thought there should be a site for it and none existed at the time. So what did he do? He didn't try to shoehorn in his concept of a site into a pre-existing one. Instead, he made his own.

Hellsing and Doom3....now that's cool
Sorry to not reply, but since this thread isn't really taking in "acceptance" and all, I'm sadly, but only guna make replies to good ideals instead of the other stuff that just ruins my day.
Castor Troy, when you think about it, that's a good ideal you made, I loved hellsing with the vampires, demonicness, and crossing over that with doom3, well, it just might go hand in hand, and well, may actually turn into something well made.
I just have to have mostly hellsing in it, but that ideal I may just take into consideration, thanks for that pointer.
As for that E3 bisnatch, my uncle Paulie Alatervo is a senior software engineer under Nokia since its birth practially. Now I work for my uncle in Finland, but have my offices in Alaska, strange yes, but I grew up here, and designing software menus and search menus for the Nokia phones brought me an oportunity to go to the last E3 of 2004 with my uncle to help showcase the new games for the NGage. Other than that, I've been only to one E3, and yes it was great, to bad for you guys, because you didn't go. But no matter, as long as you can live without it, and yeah, sorry to brag that I got to go, but when you can go, or have the chance to go, go!
I think i won't really be able to go to E3 again, unless my uncle brings me there again as his assistant again, but its just a different connective atmosphere I see between the two realms of anime and videogames that differs me from the rest of the members at this site.
And yes, I can see the fine letters in the name of this site, that many of you think I don't see and consider so greatly to me in a stricken form that I'm mere dumbass for not seeing it.
Doom3 + Hellsing = coolness nonetheless!

i can see that there's a strong link but this is the exception to the rule: generally anime doesn't get made into games
[/quote]
Although there is some truth to this, in the past years anime has begun to be made into games.

Games make more money than movies per year, more video games are being translated into movies, as with anime, and that's a fact we all have to face.
http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/521/521235p1.html
Same with doom...
And yeah, that lupin game? the new robotech game? robotech battlecry? the tekken game had a movie, that old Ramma fighter ps1 game, etc.
its not just dbz with games you know!
So with all that cool anime out there, it is only right to capitalize them into games, right?
And heck! We know we all want a Cowboy Bebop game! There's nothing wrong with accepting games in the anime genre, is there?
and heck check out this guys vid! its an anime to game vid conversion!

Actually it's not that hard to get into E3. As long as you can prove you work in a video game realted field, you can register to get a pass. I think you might have to be with the press if you want to get into the confrences, but for the "exhibits only" badge, it's not it's not that hard. I've even seen some guest passes on eBay before the event. In 2000-01 I was able to get a guest pass from my cousin who had a friend that worked in a game store. Fortunately, I didn't need that assistance in 2003-04 since, even though I don't have a game related job (yet), the fact that the school I go to focuses on game development is enough to get me in.bum wrote: you dont go to E3. E3 isnt open to anyone that isnt working with a game developer/publisher or a gameing journalist. its an invitation only thing
There are a lot of anime that get made into games, but most of them tend to stay in Japan. Anyway, there are some anime games coming out in the US. And if you had gone to Bandai's booth at E3 this year, you could see that they had a Cowboy Bebop game there. I didn't really think too much of it, but then it was just an early demo, although I did like that you could use a mop as a weapon. Anyway, at least I got my free shirt for beating the enemies in the demo.MikaelJuha wrote: So with all that cool anime out there, it is only right to capitalize them into games, right?

And as for the video you mentioned, it is something of an anime to game conversion (as is the video on my signature [/shameless plug]), but it uses anime footage, so noone can argue about that. If you were to make a Doom video to an anime sound clip or trailer, I'm sure some people would object.
As for my opinion on this, I've seen a lot of non-anime videos here (Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, non-anime related games, etc), and while I really don't like most of them, I am not strongly against them. As long as they are on their own space and not taking up the Donut, it doesn't bother me. There aren't a lot of those videos around, so they can easily be ignored by those who don't care. If the problem were to get out of hand later, those videos could always be removed. (Not sure why they haven't been removed already.)

Doom, the actual word was inspired by Tom Cruise from the movie The Color of Money, when Tom Cruise shows up in a pool hall with a custom pool cue in a case. "What do you have in there?" someone asks. "Doom." Cruise replied.
And after seeing that, the creator of doom, John Carmack created the doom genre while working as a game maker of sorts.
Now we can be inspired by movies to create games, is it possible for anime in general to be inspired or created into games through its aura, or for good old fashion capitalism?
It is a question of complicated compiled ideals molded together.
But what is interesting in this all, is that we as people, rather those of us who are addicted to being connected to news, information, and everyday business of todays movies and games, know and realize that there is a strong connectivity within games, movies, anime, and other electronic forms of entertainment in general.
Yet many of us prefer to see or master one genre in general, and become what we know as a fanboy or fangirl of sorts; Otaku if prefer if your a lover of anime. Yet the true connectivity of entertainment lies within those of us who target and choose most of all forms of these entertainments within todays standards in their good manners to literally expierence these worlds, that artist, writers, movie directors, anime music video creators, and other such modern-day artists create.
It is literally a revolution of the mind when you take in games that have ties to movies, ties to anime, and try to experience them all. In a way, its litterally trying to escape from reality, and a deep attempt to see worlds, these worlds beyond the gates of dream....
Yet to try to showing these connections in a common manner in a wired-society through the internet is hard, and litterally flaud in most of every aspect. So to express yourself through these Anime music videos, many of you try to show some certain link you have through anime in general. But to tie more than one thing in a deep expresion or thought through these videos, like say multiple formats at once. You try to conjure a living painting of sorts, telling more than one emotion you obtained from one anime or movie into a well orchestrated video for all the world to see upon the electric invisible grid of the internet...
Now that the format is very well clear, is it only right to take in things similar to anime, that give the same simple or complex emotion of feeling of sorts, and to also tie them into these elaborated videos, for a rather deeper expeirence of sorts.
Or is there always to be a barrier between this connectivity?
That is the deeper question that must be answered.

yes, anime is being made into games. and occasionaly its the same with movies and games. heres the thing though, if history has proven one thing about crosovers between different types of media, its that crossovers will almost certianly suck, and are generaly frowned upon by people at news of the possiblilty of such. take for recent example, the magority of people's reactions at news of the live action evangelion movie.
oh and, no mater what you say, or how long you blab on, no mater how much you try to get into the philosophy and morals of it, www.animemusicvideos.org is a site dedcated to anime music videos. just as www.machinima.com is dedicated to videos created with game engines and www.deviantart.com is dedicated to still images. get it now ?

Its just at its youth, let it grow to its prime
I've played many games and seen movies with connectivity in relation to anime and non anime film productions.
I just recently beat The Chornicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, which was a first-person shooter for the XBOX, which was also the prequel to the movie Pitch Black, which led to the movie The Chornicles of Riddick. Oh did i mention it also had a 30 minute animated dvd that is out now call Dark Fury, which directed by the guy who made the Animatrix dvd?
Now i must say, just the connectivity alone in that game with the movies and the animated dvd, made the whole damn experience so invigorating. And yes its not japanese, but if you think about it, that connectivity with games and movies will engener a new genre to the video game society interlinked to movies.
Now, if you recall or can't see it. There are more movies, animes, and films being made to games, and vise versa.
We have seen the many, many, many flaws in this translation, but with failure, we've learned that there can be flaws in the most minor of ways that could throw the connection way off.
But I see things differently. I see the whole game-movie-anime-film genre just in its begining, and like a new child, it has to learn to walk.
Is that not clear? Or did you mother drink jack daniels while you were in her womb and made you dumb ass from birth?
The truth is, is that the connectivity is not fragile, infact its growing stronger than you can imagine. Soon games will have more than just their graphics, their deep storyline, their characters....
They will have more than that; they will have animes, movies, films, products, you name it. Just realize that this connectivity is growing, realize that in todays society, people can see flaws and make things better by learning from them.
And yes, I realize this site is dedicated to anime in general. And I'm not like you, who was born a dumb ass from birth...
I just believe that the connection show further grow into this realm of society.
Now we are not just talking about games here to films. There are also mods, mods for video games that tie to animes. And to most die hard fans of a strong interlinking connection can be found in those also. So really now, why not see the connection out of that tunnel vision, and see the world beyond the tunnel that awaits?
