Style

Post by CaTaClYsM » Thu Jun 24, 2004 1:29 am

Just wondering, certain editors have distinctive styles (Fluxmeister, Paul Kievits, Steakslim to name a few) And my questions are, do you think you have a distinctive style, and if you do, how long did it take to develop? What other editors styles stand out in your mind? And what suggestions would you have for someone that is trying to find their stylistic niche?

I think I do, and id say i realized it around my 3rd video. I think my style is different enough to stand out and I use some techniques that are pretty unique, but i dunno if other people see it the way I do. = /

I'm pretty distinctive because I REINTERLACE</inside joke>

I dunno I guess I have my own unique style of seeing things and editing. some people don't like it but hey to each their own right? I would say once i broke off from my regular editing style you could say its taken me a year of practice. to say I'm confident in it. and its still growing with me so i hope to make things even better.

Who else stands out in my head?as in an influence... none. but others that I say are really nifty would have to be Zarxrax, SNH knives, Joykiller, Koop because people keep comparing my work to his (that's got its ups and downs). and (Amv4000 makes great vidz to watch when you're drunk)

Suggestions? not really, just do what you think you will like to see. and your mind and or the voices in your head will help you see it through.

Well, I would say that trying to pin down a style is probably a bad idea. That's more likely to limit you than anything else. From what I've seen, style is something that develops over a number of videos.

Of course, Doki has a very distinctive style.

I wouldn't know. I'd have to watch my videos from an audience's perspective, which is hard for me to do.

I still don't have a particular style, but whenever I have an idea for a video I envision it with effects. Right now I'm trying to do the type of editing like HTTT has, meaning using strictly Premiere but still make it gewdness. Experimenting's what I shall do. :)
