Question about my AMV

Post by NaturalMomentum » Thu Jun 17, 2004 1:32 pm

I noticed that you only get a few amount of opinions for your video..but is it also common for few star ratings? I just joined a-m-v.org and posted my first AMV today.
( http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=41221 )

I have 18 downloads yet no ops or star ratings....

Just making sure this is normal?

Thanks!

It takes sometime until you get star ratings, most people wait for the 10 downloads limit with the star ratings.

ops can't be forced upon people so you just have to wait or do op exchanges. It's unfortionate that it has to be that way, cause ops are a great way to get feedback. but yea, that's normal :P some people will say, you wont start getting ops until you get 60 hits or so... fankly, you wont start getting ops until people know about your video and want to op it, lol

Star ratings for videos are only possible if the video is locally hosted. This is because the site can check if you got the file. If it's on an external server this isn't possible, thus the site cannot force you to give a star rating on it.

18 downloads isn't all that much. Sounds like the AMV has barely been there a whole day! Wait until you get at least 100 or so to start expecting opinions. A lot of people who download a given video don't give an opinion because they're inarticulate, just aren't that involved with the AMV craft, or hated the video but don't really want to hurt anyone's feelings. When someone who liked the video (or likes hurting--eh, giving helpful advice to AMV-makers) comes along, you'll get your review.

I agree to a point. I don't ever think there is a good point to start 'expecting' a review though. People are basically doing you a favor by leaving you an OP, and I think that excpecting anyone to do you a favor is a little unrealistic.
