The Azumanga Dub...
...isn't really all that bad. My only complaints are the characters sometimes sound a bit nasal, and some of the jokes that depend on the Japanese language are lost. I must say that Osaka's voice isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It's more subtle than I expected, which is a good thing. All in all, I can honestly say I'll watch it in English (although it will always sound better in Japanese).

Response A:
OMG U HEATHEN BURN IN HELL 4 LISTENING 2 THAT UNCLEAN LANGAGE ENGLISGH!!!!!!!11
Response B:
Yeah, pretty much. Kaorin annoyed me now and then, but that's in character.
Look, there's no way the puns could have worked. There is nobody on earth you can bitch at for that. It just isn't happening. (And FYI, English puns wouldn't all work in Japanese, either.) I think it was a nice move on ADV's part to include the cultural references and missed puns in the DVD booklet, so the content is noted in some form even if they couldn't work it in.
Otherwise, what on earth do you think you're going to accomplish by starting the 28.8 MILLIONTH dub/sub thread on the internet? Anything that could have been said has already been said. Let it go.

I thought the dub was pretty good to. Hecj I don't even mind the southern accent they gave Osaka to represent her Kansai dialect.

Nah, I'm not really bitching about the lost puns as much as mentioning it. Captain obvious, I know, but still. I just wanted to give my thoughts on the dub, and collect others as well.SarahtheBoring wrote:Response A:

About the booklet: I thought that was a nice touch as well. I didn't think I was coming off as bitching, so sorry if I was.

Just a question, does everyone from Osaka HAVE to have a Texan accent.
Ex.
Osaka (Azumanga)
Arumi (Abenobashi)
Sasshi (Abenobashi)
