CJ said he could get the money to pay off this medical bill at an extreme expense to his future.

Can we say blowing this out of proportion?

To address a few things sequentially:

1) No I don't owe the Org anything. That is a fact. But I have taken from the Org in many ways. (server space, bandwidth, etc.) and I donated for a selfish reason. I want the org to stay around for *my* entertainment.

2) Does it make you a bad person? No. Not by a long shot. It also doesn't make me better than you, or vice versa. Again I didn't contribute for the sake of charity, I had very selfish reasons for contributing. I never claimed to be a generous person. (although internet wolrd aside, I like to think that I am ^_^) And as wonderful as your contributions have been to 'the community' via your selfproclaimed assholishness, I doubt that will do much for keeping the bills paid on Phade's end.

3) The ironic part is that this is just what you are doing in my eyes. Streets are for cars, not for asking for change. You go to a Metaillca show to hear Metallica, not to look for Nelly CD's. I come to this forum (this part imparticular) to view general AMV related topics (as the title states). This thread is like a pop-up ad that I have to continuously ignore. (and this is not the only thread that is like that, it's just contributing to it.) or like that idiot standing outside a Metallica concert hollering GET YOUR NELLY CD's HERE while you are trying to enjoy the show. Yeah off topic shit happens everywhere and in every part of life, and I need to deal with that. I just thought that since I had the opportunity to speak to the source of one of these annoyances, that I would.

4) This one is easy. Set up a web page and make a decent looking banner for your sig. You get the same exposure, (more in fact because people will see it in every thread you will or have posted in) and you are not throwing into peoples path in the same way that you do by meaninglessly bumping this topic. CJ could put a link in his sig too if he 'cared' and then that would double the exposure. At the time of this post, you and CJ have made 5391 posts combined. That would put your statement into 5391 different locations in on this site alone, never mind if you plugged this anywhere else on the internet too...

5) I never said that your act of kindness was idiotic, I am more focused on the mockery that you and CJ are making out of this kind act. For the record I truely think that the idea behind what you are doing is VERY kind, I just think that your execution trivializes it, and your collective general demeanor doesn't really instill confidence in your motives to me, in the same way that if *I* started this thread it wouldn't inspire too much trust due to *my* general demeanor.

6) I don't respect you enough to not be harsh to you at this point. Your feelings are of no concern to me, therefore I'm not going to blow sunshine up your ass when I talk to you. I'm sorry if you felt that I could have approached my point in a different way, but I just delivered my message the way I thought it. If at some point in the future I start to respect you a little more, then I assure you that the way that I speak to you will be much more cordial.

7) As DK stated, 1 semester of community collage is not what *I* would feel is "an extreme expense to his future". If so my future is bankrupt. I (as well as many others that read this forum) have never set foot in an esablishment of higher education for the purposes of obtaining an education. Life goes on. If it came down to my health or my education, there would be no contest. School can wait, health can not. Has CJ ever considered seeking support for his bills from the state? I have in the past and had all but a little over $100 due on a $3,000 bill. Perhaps you guys are looking for help in the wrong places. There are places that help people like CJ. If all else fails, you can always do what my parents have done. Send them $20 a month till it's paid. You may not know this, but if you send them ANY money and they accept it (i.e. do not send it back) then they are accepting that as a reasonable payment, and cannot take action on you. Don't believe me? Ask a lawyer. My mother payed off a medical bill in $20 payments for over 12 years. It can be done.

So there you have it. The long version of why I am diametrically opposed to this thread. Any more questions?

Hehe, I actually just grabbed CJ's text document.... I mean banner, and then editied it in MS Paint in 5 minutes. It wasn't worth opening photoshop for

I'll take it off once I'm no longer ammused by it.

And as for "killing your joy", please accept my appologies. It was never my intention to affect you negatively Sal, *you* I respect. ^_^

Actually the sig thing to me would be more obtrusive as "a popup message" than 1 single post line in the General AMV section of the forums, where in this one it potentially can show up everywhere in every forum, a lot of times if he posts alot. I'm not taking sides on this issue, Which I personally think is being blown too much out of porportion, but just had to comment on that little thing ;p most of what both of you are saying makes sense, but I think it doesn't need to be argued about, Its just adding wood to the fire so to speak, I say just Let everyone make their own choice to Ignore or respond to this topic as they see fit.
