Idea...

Do away with both damned chats and be done with it? What a freaking concept people! Then everyone can be pissed. And we'll all be equal.

Now this is a plan that I can get behind. Pissing off as many people as possible is always fun.

If that was including me, I have no idea what you're talking about. I can't even get into this irc thing, so the only meaning 'ops' has to me is the review system for videos on this site.

As for the banner - I want it so my org friends and I will have a quick link to the no longer official chatroom. I'll just have to see how large the banner is before I settle on where to host it. I don't plan to sign any petition because frankly since the day after Phade retired, the changes started and I don't see any complaints stopping them from continuing to change whatever they care to change. At this point I don't particularly care. It's a banner, and at the current size it is completely inside the forum rules for people to use that banner.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, if anyone wants help to get into the IRC chat room, I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is and help anyone get into it. Either PM me, or send me an instant message, and I'll see if I can help.

My quibbles isn't anything about the fact that they want to have a convenient link, I just think that it hurts their case substantially to bitch and whine without the exact point that they are arguing(the link to the chatroom and lack of officialness of the AIM version). If they just posted a link to the AIM chat room and had a generic Fight the Power statement and without bitching, I'd be in full support of such a banner. Whining and bitching gets you nowhere, it's reasonable conversation that'll get you a receptive audience that'll be willing to help you out.

Might as well bring everyone in on the fun, right?

To you it's quibbling. To us, it's what we do. I'm going to get things better organized in the near future and it will look more "professional". Here's what I believe:

I believe that we should have one place affiliated with AMV where we can speak our minds however we choose. I don't want to have to check myself before I type something because some "Big Brother" will be watching me and could stop me from ever saying anything again. At least in the AIM chat...you could speak a free mind and if someone doesn't agree with you, they can put you on the IGNORE list. But it isn't fair for us to have to be dominated over with all of these rules and people are more than ready to ban us for not abiding by every little rule.

I don't care about any of the chatrooms.

:O
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

I'm sorry - being able to speak your mind is one thing, getting complaint after complaint of abuse in the AIM chat room is another thing.

I enjoy chatting in the AIM room but the abuse that happens in there from time to time is not something we can affiliate with the site. The aim chat room is there as it has the ability to ward off trolls and keep them away.

People have a right to not be attacked on their personal AIM accounts just because they entered a room. The org cannot be affiliated with any chatroom that causes that to happen. Sorry.

The AIM chatroom for the site, AnimeMusicVideos.org, may contain harmful or explicit content, as we here at the ORG cannot moderate it. Please enter at your own risk. Any and all complaints from this day forward regarding the AIM chatroom will be automatically deleted. You have been warned and if you find it offensive, please do not return or go in the first place.
Now what is so hard about putting that on the site somewhere? This isn't fair to the people who still enjoy the AIM chatroom over IRC...one being me. All you have to do is be like Pontius Pilate, acknowledge it and wash your hands clean. There's nothing wrong with warning people before they come in right?
