Otaku Vengeance Productions: Spider Dweller

Post by DarkXPower » Sat Jun 12, 2004 6:29 pm

Im proud to Announce that this is the first AMV done to this series (as far as I can tell), as well as this song. I entered both into the catalog (not the band though, just the song). I started work on this in Mid April, and worked on it whenever i had free time (like 5-10 hours a week or so) You will notice some zoom effects and flashing effects...i did not create these effects, they were in the Anime, i simply explioted them. The only transition i used was "Cross Desolve". Heres a pic of the Timeline if anyones interested. Also, i used the first track from Celldweller along with the full 5 minute song of "Switchback". Its 30 seconds long, and its just a little build up to the full song. I feel that this video has a smooth flow to it, the action gets heavier as the video goes on. Its also an attempt at a character profile of a badass super hero.

Anime: Spider-Man the Animated Series (2003)
Band: Celldweller
Song: Switchback
Info: 5:40 -- 84.8mb -- XVID

It's been playing on a loop for the past hour, I love it.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

Wickedly Cool! That was certainly unusual to say the least. You say that's from an animated series? Could have fooled me. Looks more like game footage if you didn't point that out. Honestly, it looks better suited for the PC than the TV.

But about your video... definately the OV style I remember from the past. The song, while long, is still catchy in it's techno-metal style. 8) I dig it.

Your editing choice of simply exploiting the existing effects was a good call. Also, I like the ease of using a simple cross disolve. It gives it a nice smooth feeling to watch.

This video really does profile Spider-Man as a badass super hero but also his "identity crisis" which is the essence of the character.

Just an afterthought ~ you think Spider-Man is overrated? There are lots of other "heros" in the Marvel universe. Maybe too many.

I guess that would depend if a person likes Spider-Man or not. If they dont, they may think hes overrated for having 2 big budget movies. I think Spider-Man and X-men both deserve big budget movies. As long as the people behind the scenes are also Fans. Glad to hear you found my video Smooth, thats how i feel this video is.

Wish i could do the same, but i over loaded my brain with this song during the 2 months of editing...it almost hurts to listen to it now, i think i just need a few weeks break from it...

Usually I don't like AMVs with more than 5 minutes , but since this vid was made with footage that I never saw , and can't magine if we have around here I enjoyed it the entire vid , and of course the good act/lyrics sync helped a lot too , to keep my attention in the vid.
