Anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion [Death and Rebirth, End of Evangelion]
Music: ProjeKct 3 - Deception of the Thrush

Experimental Instrumental Video. Length: 7:30. Size: 70MB. Encoding: DivX (2-pass XviD/DivX encode), 720x400.

FINAL EDITION FEATURES:

-Overall improved video quality - at 15MB less of a size and improved codec compatibility!
This is primarily due to the use of the superior 2-pass XviD/DivX encoder. If the relationship between the filesize, time length and resolution of the video seems odd to you, it's primarily because of how well the encoder deals with the mostly-static scenes in the early and late parts of the video.

-Fixed fields/interlacing issues
This improves the overall look of overlays and effects, especially later in the video.

-Minor editing corrections
So small, you probably won't see most of them. Most were in the later parts of the video.

The rest of the video is basically there.

This isn't a real remaster, since the source and the overwhelming majority of the editing is the exact same as before - more like a final, tweaked version of what the video should have been originally. It is by no means flawless, but it's as good as I wanted it to be. Also, this isn't actually the ultimate max-quality version of the video, as I have a ~100MB encode, but considering the fact that I'm willing to bet those who have seen that version (through the Instrumental Project FTP) will have a hard time telling this one from that one, I'd say the miniscule difference is not worth the 30 megs, and out of respect for both the .org and the viewers' bandwith I'll keep that one off local. If you happen to want it though, just get in touch with me and I'm sure we'll arrange something.

Also, huge thanks to all those who have given me such good feedback in ops during the last few months, and to everyone who downloaded the original version (I know who all 300 of you are :P)

Enjoy!

Just finished watching..

..man this video is great. And it's now even better in this version. :)

About the remastering - I'm happy you cropped out the black edges on some of the static bars in the third part, but you miss an end of one. The blocks seemed better timed, too. And the quality... well, let's just say it's what I'd expect for 70 mb.

Thanks there!

Ah yea, I actually just noticed those little black bars you're talking about too when I was re-viewing it today for upload - but sadly, it was too late to do anything about them, since the video has been beyond editable for at least 3 months now. A minor thing though.

And I always thought 70mb was kinda... small (well, maybe it's just me with my semi-literate encoding skills)

Oh, 70 mb is small as a normal file to me; but I think otherwise in AMV standards. I figure that small in AMV standards is something up to 40 mb. I tend to stay away from files at around 70-100 when compressing...

Ooooh, nice remaster of an excellent video. I still get the shivers from the last 1/3rd of this :)

I saw the original way back when (Savia recommended it and I rarely watch AMVs...thank her :-P) and will check out the remaster when I get a chance.

Look forward to your next project!
