sweet and short but strong
The best amv's the ones that are sweet and short. I recently viewed an amv to M5's (maroon 5) "Sunday Morning" to RK. Though the vid was short, it captured the sincerety really well. Another RK vid was made to the song "Heaven" by a studio who i think is called "Sonephet", please correct me if I'm mistaken. Anyhow, the video used still images instead of standard scenes, it was perfect!
The best, in my opinion was to Lux Externa by pOD to RK, called "Kenshin's Ending Theme". The digital effects for such a short piece were phenomenal! Lighting, sound, and action...i'm speechless. I certainly enjoyed being part of a "short rush".
This is not to say that I dislike long AMV's. In fact, Entropy Studios did an an excellent job, including RipperX, and LightningCountX.
In my opinion, the great amv's are the ones that have a clear theme and the whole amv is catered to bringing life to that theme; be it love, honor, betrayal, or just plain fun! Because there's only so much one can do with anime images and scenes, it's necessary to use visual/digital effects to highlight moments, characters, and other great features from the anime that are not so obvious...otherwise, there would be no point in viewing an AMV. It becomes such a task to make or enjoy an AMV's with these qualities, making the short and sweet ones stronger and more appealing.
But hey, I love AMV's and I am privileged to view greatness.
Sincerely,
Kearanoske and Blue's Productions

Solace In Destruction
I wouldn't mind another person's opinion on it, it's been a while.
