Ever Seen Fushigi Yuugi?

I enjoyed it, even though Miaka is a little overly sweet and annoying at times. I would watch it again. I liked many of the characters, particularly Nakago, what a piece of work he is. Interesting story in why he is an evil villian. I used him to make one of my AMVs.

The first season, for the most part, was good. The second season was not so good, until the very end.

I really hated how they mangled Nuriko's character in the second season. She/he was a really complex character (essentially a woman in a man's body) and then they make some lame excuse for it.

I've only seen the first OAV, but that was kinda lame too.

It had such potential, and the first season was so good for the most part, and then it seemed like they just got tired of it.

It's one of the better animes I've seen. A little stretched and overly melodramatic at times yes, but I still liked it surprisingly much. The OVAs sucked though.

Ah yes...Fushigi Yuugi, the most hardcore anime obsession I have ever had in my whole life as an otaku. It made me laugh, it made me cry (a LOT) it made me buy the soundtracks, wallscrolls, and other miscellaneous junk, (including the entire series + ovas) it made me want EVERYONE I knew to watch it, including 30 downloaded fy amvs from kazaa. Fushigi Yuugi has forever changed my "anime p.o.v." as a whole.

And I watched it in English.

Besides the awesome Tasuki & Chichiri - I can no longer stand this show. The obsession came on like that hardcore party - then lingered like a bad hangover - and then finally died with vows of never doing THAT again.

I own the series and the OVA and I love it!! It's like the first anime I owned on DVD:) Its a bit sappy at times but hey as a whole it most certainly redeems its self
