I have no objection to somthing like that if it can't be searched for, but I'd need to think about how to implement it. We'll see.

Simple way: add a boolean flag to the database in each video. The flag is set at entry time, so you'd have to add a checkbox to that (and edit, too). Don't add a search for it. Assuming that someone's not going to find a way to connect to the DB except via the website (which would screw things over anyway), I think this would work fairly well.

if(flag)
add text to vid description about adult content
if(noflag)
do nothing

That's not the problem - it's where to have the checkbox for people to identify it and how to then warn people about the video once the setting is there that needs thought

What about an option when you join where you can choose not to 'see' adult content videos? I know they have that sort of filter on art sites, and you can set it back later if you change your mind (or get older). But so long as that option is selected those items will be invisible in all searches so no one accidentally stumbles onto one (you can't search *for* those vids using this, you can just make sure they don't show up).

Just don't go so far as to flag anime. I know Kite is very graphic, but you can still use clips from that anime that are not 'graphic violence' - I'm sure you can do the same with La Blue Girl - take clips and 'use the anime' without having the video be hentai. Flagging all hentai anime would falsely mark videos as being 'hentai' even if they aren't using hentai footage (think of the multi-anime vids). Not every clip in a hentai anime is 'inappropriate' for this site, so they shouldn't be automatically marked as such.

If we're talking about protecting a hypothetical 8 year old here then the idea should be expanded. There are plenty of videos that are tame enough to be on the org but still aren't appropriate for an 8 year old. I'm not just talking fanservice videos either, how many parents do you think want their child watching some of the dark realistic treatments of war that Grave of the Fireflies has spawned? If you're going to kid proof the video listings then I suggest a 'mature viewer' tag and super search having a checkbox for if those videos should be returned or not. Of course it should default to not.

Hey, there's no age restriction on porn in Japan.

I agree with the idea that it shouldn't be marked as hentai just because it contains footage from hentai. And you can't upload anything with nudity...

It would only affect the direct/indirect vids, so how much of an affect would it have, exactly?

Or maybe something similiar to the spoiler colors?
