FanimeCon 2004

Post by TechnoShaman » Mon May 31, 2004 11:28 pm

I have to say, aside from Der Cosplay, FanimeCon (San Jose) 2004's high point for me was the AMV screenings. I would kill to be able to get my hands on a cd with the semi finalists presentations on it, they were all absolutely stunning.

If anyone could direct me to a site where I could find them, or at least some of the incredible ones like AMV Hell, Arctic Tribe's offering, Grand Theft Megadeus, Grand Theft Bebop, and the various Hellsing videos that were screened, I would bow down and worship the ground you stride upon.

I have always wanted to produce anime music videos, and I finally have a computer that is well capable of editing video footage. Not to mention copious free time. However, I don't even know where to begin.

If you fine gentlemen and women would be kind enough to direct me to some guides and software for (God I hate this word) -shudder- newbies -shudder- I would be eternally grateful. I will need information on everything from what software is required to edit the videos, what techniques work and what doesn't as far as production style and timing, to what software I need to rip footage from dvds.

Thanks for taking the time.

You, um, do realize that the main page has links called 'guides' and 'software' that give you everything you need to know, and that this forum has stickies that answered your newbie questions before you ask them, right?

Also, as far as finding the fanime stuff, you can do a Super Search and specify the con, or go to http://www.amv-contest-lists.org/data/fanime2004.htm and wait for the links that may be lacking to show up.

Thank you, you have my eternal gratitude. I hadn't navigated the site much, and hadn't found the postings from the fanimecon contest yet. Also, thanks for directing me towards the files, faqs, and guides.

Have you tried looking in the contest or the convention forums?
