With a media player (eg. the imaginatively named Windows Media Player) and the right codecs. Try Googling for "ffdshow".

Nobody

thinks of themselves as a 'n00b' so they probably aren't going to click on that sticky at the top.

Maybe if it said 'New Users' instead, we could avoid these topics?

Not likely.
I think the only way this will stop coming up is if there is a pop up in the super search function that says:

noob-o-meter wrote: 1 ) if you haven't waited two weeks you can't watch locals.
1.5) you have XX days left.
2 ) if you don't like it either wait or donate.
3 ) you have to actually download the video, and click on it.

Honestly, it isn't THAT hard for people to find out this stuff.
