More than 100mb of space on the donut for long videos.
I suggest case by case permission for the alotment of additional space for specfic videos being hosted on the donut. Mainly, those long videos such as AniMix and others that are in excess of 10mins running time, a request could be made and a more approprate ammount of space could be permitted so as the long videos like that don't have to be encoded at 400kbps just to fit in at 100mb.

I believe Izumi said anything over 10 minutes.)v(ajin Koji wrote:Define long AMV.
The Road to Iron Chef is almost 12 and it's in the upper 80's if I remember correctly (which I never do most of the time).
The occasional exception should be made for vids like AniMix though because you can't get a good quality version without getting one that's atleast a few hundred megs.
Steak's FIRE video had trouble getting down to 86 mb and I think, in this case, shouldn't be allowed to go up on the donut if it went over 100 for a 3 minute vid. It's a very good vid though. Siezure-ific!

The Road to the Iron Chef was a video that had a LOT of still images, or just slowly moving images in it, it's not so hard to make very low motion videos look nice, but most normal videos that feature a fairly constant level of motion wouldn't benifit as much, 900-1100kbps is probabbly as low as you can go for an AMV, and even then you're sorta stretching it out a bit.

Sounds about much too me.DJ_Izumi wrote:If I thaught about Phade, I wouldn't use a bitrate calculator to make sure that every AMV I put on the donut is at least 95mb.
One can encode a video at 10 meps per minute no matter how much motion you have in it. With good enough filtering and compression settings you dont need more.
I think though for stuff like the animix that's almost 1 hour in duration this is a great idea.
Cheers vir eers

Think about Phade when making suggestions.
How about we let Phade decide if its bad for Phade or not??
