As Koji said at the release of the "Pointless Fanservice Video", fanservice is never pointless.

I've won 2nd place at AnimeCentral as well with this video, makes me happy :D
That means conneko has higher standards, heh.

I've entered it at Fanime as well, maybe some of you will see it there.

I saw this video at Anime Central 2004 and was pleased to see it get a "Honorable Mention" at the awards ceremony (there aren't 2nd/3rd places, just winner and honorable mentions).

It seems like a fairly typical action video in terms of good timing and fast paced, but it had a little bit more and somewhat stood out (imo). I imagine it was tough to choose between the action vids since all of them were REALLY similar and well-timed, but again, this one stood out imo.

WORD!

Thanks Daniel, glad you liked it. What made it stand out could've been indeed the song, there's not much like this wonderful track ;)

I honestly can't pinpoint what made it stand out (perhaps because it was the last action entry played?), but it just did.

Action had 19 entries in it and thinking back, I thought a lot of them were very good, but about the same in quality of editing. This obviously would lead to a dilemna in judging if the judges thought the same as me. I then saw your video and said to myself "this is about the same in quality (i.e good), but is a little different (in a good way)." I'd say that (surprisingly), action was the toughest category this year.

I guess I'll rewatch it when I get home from work and maybe I'll be able to pinpoint it.
