lol, I just finished watching the peterpan movie, and now I'm inspired to do a video to the ending instrumental music on that dvd. I think it would fit the various ghibli movies in particular. (I had this idea long ago already, just didn't have a fitting music track for it) I almost want to do it instead of the one I'm working on, but I don't think I would have enough time to finish it -_- Its a very long peice.
what do you guys think, wich idea do you think better fits the theme of fantasia instrumentality, this one or the one i'm already working on? would you rather me try to do this for the project instead?
I would definately have more fun doing this one I think. I am just concerned about finishing ontime. Or maybe I can cut the track... or just use a shorter song from the same OST... hmmm the ideas....

Sorry about the FTP being down. It'll come back in a few days, but I've been tied up in the moving process and the room I'm moving into is currently nothing but a hay loft with some insulation and wood strapping that the drywall will be attached to. No wiring yet, and I don't have any other place where I can stay connected for long, so I'm afraid I'll have to be offline for right now.
Excuse me as I try to wash the fiberglass bits out of my hair and maybe finish preparing the final version of my video (which I did inadvertently encode using the wrong Mpeg4 .avi varient last time, for whoever was having problems playing it).
Once again, all apologies, I just can't establish a continuous connection.

I think you should stick with the one you're closer to finishing. You'd probably get upset at yourself if the 2nd one wasn't complete on time. Besides, you'd have to push yourself very hard. Better to do your current one and take it easy than drive yourself nuts trying ta get the other one done.Bakadeshi [AuN Studios] wrote: wich idea do you think better fits the theme of fantasia instrumentality, this one or the one i'm already working on?

No problem, I'll give you some good feedback as soon as the FTP is up again. I find oping betas really satisfying.Maverick7013 wrote:Guys... even though it may seem a bit boorish of me to bring up again..
..but I'd still like feedback on my video from someone besides rose4emily, as I'd like critique.
If it's still there, it's probably in the outbox as The Alchemist.
Thank you for your time.
Actually there's a bunch of new betas I haven't seen yet but I've only managed to get one with the limited FTP uptime. I kept waiting for people to upload earlier, and as soon as I turn around there's a ton and I can't get them! Grrrrr....
(Note to Rose4Emily, I'm not really mad, we couldn't have done this project without you and considering your using a laptop for the FTP we can hardly complain about a little downtime now and again, especially with you moving and all. Thanks again!)

Ok i'm gonna think about my direction with my current project along with the ideas for the new one. I realy like the track from peter pan better, so I may see what I can think up with that.
For those interested I posted my selection to my FTP. Its shorter, so doable:
http://www.aunmv.com/Flying.mp3
I'll move it to the project ftp when its back up.
I'm thinking of doing it to either 4 of the ghibli movies (The cat Returns, Spirited away, Castle in the sky, and Kiki's delivery service, It would basically just be a happy video, mood changes to that of the song.) Or just do it to The Cat Returns. (where I would actually tell a story, It actually fits in a way to that of petter pan, so it could work) I have diferent ideas for both ways. I will sleep on it and decide.
If I go ahead on it, I'll probably end up finishing both videos and let the members of the project decide with one is better suited for the project as a whole.

Hmm, you know, I'm really digging your current one. I wish you'd finish it - I like the music choice, and I don't think we've had much in the way of fantasy-themed anime on this project. (come on! Fantasia without Fantasy!)Bakadeshi [AuN Studios] wrote:lol, I just finished watching the peterpan movie, and now I'm inspired to do a video to the ending instrumental music on that dvd. But, really, it's entirely up to you. I'd hate to work on something I didn't feel like doing.

Maverick7013 - interesting choices there, too. I find it strange sometimes that the music is quite 'light', but the images are quite 'heavy'. Still, it doesn't mean you can't pull it off in that fashion. It could be interesting once I see more. I haven't seen the anime, so I can't comment on the story so far.
My own biggest gripe is the way the editing approach is handled. Well, again, it might just be me with my own preferences, but it seems a bit too… flashy. I probably would have approached it in a somewhat simpler fashion. I wish you could try and smooth it out somehow, even if you kept this back-and-forth pattern. It just seems to jump too suddenly every time. (hopefully you know what I'm talking about)

Now… there’s probably still a couple of new videos I haven’t seen since the FTP went down… will get to them when it returns.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

So wait...I'm not sure what's going on here. I only read the first page. Are you just showing your instrumental creations? Or are you asking for people that have instrumental videos to put them up there if they want?
Watashi no nihongo ga mada jouzu ja nai -_-;

I got inspired to make that video in part of hearing that same peter pan song over the radio.

The ending fades just fade in black since I hadn't put any images there yet.. but there will be. The last 20 or so seconds are basically 100% incomplete.
And the heavy images/light songs bother me as well, and will be changed. I'm not sure about the heavy fades, though.
Thank you for your comments, Otohiko.

Yes, I do. I tried to convey the feeling well while keeping the plotline flowing in a well edited process. I didn't want the pace of the song ignored; nor did I wish to leave a part blank, so I felt I should have iterated each beat of the song so it wasn't too boring... I just can't stand leaving a portion blank without any edits.Otohiko wrote: Maverick7013 - interesting choices there, too. Well we are full for what I understand for this version of the instrumentals but go check out the thread for the second one.
