Yeah. I bet you all were looking for a topic in this forum you could actually read. :!O (The old guys, anyway).

Anyhow! Onto the topic.

Really simple one, really.

How did you get to know AD's name?
Was it the guides? Was it just because he's around a lot?
Was it his music videos?
Or was it his 'presence".

Just wanted to know why you think AD's famous.

--

Screwy topic, huh? But it's something to talk about other than "OMG!!11 i L057 mE viyo!11ONE"(not referencing to any particular topic, btw).

So. Yeah. Enjoy the topic that can easily be bent and be fun for all.

I had heard about his guides a while back but didn't really know him until I saw his Storytelling - A Gothic Fairytale video. It really blew me away and ever since I've begun checking out his work and I'm partial to That Other Girl and Childhood's End. Nice guy.

Yeah, he is. I talk to him online sometimes and I met him briefly at AWA 9(buying his DVDs) you can tell he's a great guy.

I knew him before I even knew him because... Well, everyone was mentioning his name when I first joined, and the guides had his name, and then AMVapp I think had his name in there somewhere...

So I think his name was imprinted in my head ever since I joined the org.
I never saw any of his videos until this year either. Image

Gothic Fairytale is awesome, but not in the editing aspects(I think). The anime as very cool. I'm not a big fan of AD's editing, but he is an awesome guy all around; especially for the guides and AMVapp.

I ran into AD actually when he made his first video, the Lain one. What was it called? Accelination or something and then i used to talk to him online alot, like when he was thinking of putting out a 30 second AMV project thingy or something. But now he's always too busy to chat :P Watching all that Card Captor Sakura Pr0n. (j/k)

AD, YOU'RE FAMOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AD was the lead guitar for G&R before Slash.

You heard it here first.

The first time I saw AbsoluteDestiny's name was when I checked out "Shameless Rock Video". I remember thinking, a lot of people seem to like this video and it has won a lot of awards, let's see what it's like. After watching it, my thoughts were somewhere along the lines of "What the hell was that!? I don't understand this video! Was someone high when making or watching this?"(Note: Those were pretty much my exact thoughts when watching FLCL or a lot of other AMVs using that anime) No offence, but I'm just not an abstract thinker when it comes to AMVs, and that video was too strange for me.
Final Doom "Amazing things will happen here soon."

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Substance "Everyone knows that it's a dangerous substance."

The guides first since I read those a few dozen times the same day I joined and the names 'ermac and absolute destiny' just sort of stuck. I didn't put them to a 'person' until I'd been posting on the forum for a few months. I've never been good with names so I was surprised when I realized exactly *where* I knew his name from. ^_^;

I've never been good with names either.

If anyone remembers the DW Chang and Hsien incident, LOL.

I mentioned in my journal that I was struggling with an AMV, so AD emailed me and offered to take a look at it. He told me it sucked, and I ended up ditching the video

That was my first AD experience
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

That reminds me of the Big Big Truck interview.

Speaking of which, I wonder if anyone reads those...
