Otakon 2004 Betting Pool

Post by iserlohn » Mon May 10, 2004 11:08 am

Once again it's Otakon Deadline Time, and while there's still a few hours left for procrastinators to upload their videos, all the forms have to be at Mr. Beebe's door today, which means that unless you live down the street, it's already in the mail and your entry has been locked in.

Therefore, it's time to play the annual "How Many Vids Got Sent To Otakon" Betting Pool Game. The rules are simple. You post a reply with how many vids you think got submitted and, like on The Price is Right, the person who gets closest WITHOUT GOING OVER wins. The winner is announced after prejudgings when those who've attended can go home, count up all the entries listed on the ballets, and post the official number. This means that videos disqualified BEFORE prejudging are not counted, but videos disqualified AT prejudging are.

The prize in past years has been a review of the winner's choice of vide, this year's prize is yet to be determined but will either be a similar intangible item, or something of (extremely...like <$2) small cash value.

A few stats from the past couple years:
2001 - 150ish
2002 - 105 (yes it went down)
2003 - 180
2004 - ???

Ladies and gentlemen, the game is afoot!
