Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

No problem Flint.

I'm glad you got the guts to state your opinion. Most people just tell what the creator wants to hear and that doesn't help. I'd much more appreicate a honest harch opinion than a nice untrue one.

That's the only way to improve.

Alright, here's what I think...........

"Ah! So that's what a MAD vid would look like if they used animated scenes instead of just animating stills from a game"

Nicely, done.
A+ for effort!

There aren't many *effects* ridden videos I can say I honestly like, but this one comes close. I need to sit down and watch it a few more times before I post a thorough review. Surprisingly good visual quality and the audio wasn't too bad either.

Using a japanese song --- hell, it's an Anime, why not!

Spirited Away --- good movie, but only saw it once in the theater. Can't say anything more than that. Never thought about it much afterwards....

and maybe that's why I can't seem to find any "meaning" to this video. I think I understand how "flint" and "Esrhan" feel when they say they don't like it or prefer videos with more substance than eye-candy. There doesn't seem to be any connection between the song and the show - obviously due to the language (raise your hand if you speak Japanese).

But, this is all just first impression, so let's have another look at it.

:? OMG! That's pretty damn good! What great and innovative effects.*thumbs* It wasn't something like an all out effect driven AMV, the effects were very fitting and properly used. Nice, nice stuff mon! :P
Gonna ask for some advices definately.

I get that alot. I dont choose a song that "fits" with what I'm trying to do. I choose a song and anime that I like. Then I concoct a plot to glue the whole bunch together.

Another reasong I choose this song is because I'm sick and tired of all the literal videos out there. It's also very difficult to make a video and not get influenced with the lyrics. I never read the meaning of the song untill after I finished my video cause I didn't wanna prejudice me scene selection.

rubyeye - I liked your shellshock video. It's very .....
different.

Thanx for the feedback bote.

I was informed this week that Mystery Conundrum won the
Best Action/Adventure at Sakura Con 2004.

I find it quite amusing and dissapointing as I requested to enter the competition and nobody informed me that my video was accepted.

I was in the area and would have attented if I knew my video was gonna show.

Oh well. I guess it on more title for the video

check it out.

P.S. I'm willing to swop reviews for people with MPEG videos only. I dont have access to a pc for this year and can only use the libraries.
