Inuyasha question (timetravel)

Well, first for the time travel being impossible, just keep in mind that people once believed a lot of things that we now laugh about. Silly people thinking the earth was flat, they were so sure of it and had explained it through their 'scientific theories.' But they were wrong. DDramone brought up the newest findings about black holes - great point, and very true. But traveling faster than the speed of light and the concept of time travel is something many scientists have believed in, all the way back to Aristotle and Einstein. We just haven't managed to prove *or* disprove those theories because it's beyond our technology. Until we can travel at the speed of light and reproduce the settings dictated in those theories, no one can say those theories are incorrect. Great thing about science - it's not the proof that matters so much as how impossible it is to disprove it. The same reason people believe in God - can't disprove it.

But back to this anime. ^_^

I thought the requirement was:

Kagome can only go through the well when she has a shard - the first time, she had them inside her body (the entire stone, later ripped out by the first demon). When Inuyasha throws her in the well and keeps the stone, she can't get back through. She doesn't have a shard, so it's impossible for her. When the shards are in the past, no demons without the shards can go through - Shippou tries to get to her, but he can't travel even when he has the shards because Kagome is in the present.

She counters this rule and adds an exception - if the shards are in the 'past' - inside the well - then she can travel through to be reunited with the shards.

As for when the shards are in the present, we know Inuyasha goes through to get them, the first demon drags her down, meaning some body part had to have passed through, and the hair demon sends body parts (hairs) all over the place to get her.

So, if the shards (or stone) are in the present, demons can get through to where they are. If Kagome is in the present and the shards are in the past, demons can't get through even if they *do* have the shards. If Kagome doesn't have shards, she can't get through. But if the shards are in the well, she can.

So it's not just the shards themselves, but Kagome's location in relation to the shards.

Quite complicated rules. o.O It just makes it more fun when the anime breaks them. There's an exception to every rule and all that hoopla.

The simplest way to d4eal with time paradoxes is this:
Rules For Time Paradox Management:
1) Don't think about it.
2) If you can't pbey 1, just accept.
3) Don't try to explain.
4) Don't try to figure out if it's even possible. Modern theoretical physicists are none too certain.
5) Chances are it's just a plot device.

Mistress Centipede's remains were presumably already in the well having been there for centuries and Kagome's presence in the well-room is probably what awakened her.

There is another temporal anomaly

in Inuyasha though. In episode 1, when Kikyo shoots Inuyasha onto the tree, she's doing it from some steps and there's a building or two behind her*. Fifty years later, when Kagome chances upon the tree, it appears that this is sufficient time for the buildings and even the (stone) stairs to have eroded and disappeared without trace.

* These don't seem to be there in the manga.

it's kinda like back to the future he goes back in time and comesback and some things have changed and some haven't depending on which movie you watch, there's the psycho future 80's with buff in absolute control andthen the more realistic form of where pretty much evertying is the same except minor details ya know?
...i think that coinsides with inu, how she goes back in time and time doesn't stop in the future or her time it keeps going and if something major changes i nteh past it will obviously change or alter the future a bit.
but to answer the question yes time keeps going hence the constant and sometimes ridiculous diseases her gpa has to make up for her missing tons of school
speaking of which i'm pretty sure they would have ppl looking into her constant illnesses if she had been gone so much it would be kinda suspicous but good thing they don't.

i hope the back to thefuture thing made sense it did at the time i was thinking/writing it
