Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

WIP Strawberry Eggs Return to Innocence

Post by Onyyx » Sat Apr 24, 2004 2:49 am

Well this project has been dragging on for an incredable amount of time now, I thought it would be long since done by now.

Though I must say this being my first slow paced video I have to say I have alot more respect for romance video makers, there is definately a certain challenge to this kind of video.

I've posted up this WIP to get reactions and recommendations, i've never done this type of video before so input from other creators would be definately welcome.

So come take a look see what you think, I kept the file size relatively small, about 16MB, the video quality took a small hit, but it really isn't that bad.

Thanks in advance to everyone who decides to help out. 8)[

As a side note, WIP post should go in the Opinions thread. Also, the donut should not be used for posting WIPs, your supposed to use your own server, or some free provider. Since you did this you won't be able to release the final one on the donut unless you can somehow beg phade or someone to delete it for ya ;p But I will check the vid for you anyway and let you know what I think.

Ok, Angelfire and FreeWebs can both kiss my butt, lets see if it works better on GeoCities. This has been SO VERY...annoying.

Anywho, its set up for indirect link now, for some reason I just couldn't get the org to accept it on direct. So if your all still interested heres the first couple minutes of it.

hmmm, I saw it (and the website just killed most of my post) :(

but anyway, it's jerky and the sound cuts out near the end (probably it's the compression), but otherwise it's mostly good. I think the scene around 1:30 could have been a little shorter, a little less lipflap, and I think the scene with the ribbon worked pretty well. If I think of any more nitpicks I'll post them.

I completely agree about the 1:30 to 1:47 section, most of it has been replaced by three clips that cross dissolve into each other. I like the scene selection alot better now.

The compression was required to get it hosted, but hey for 4.33MB for a 1:47 Minute video it could have been worse, I am expecting to have the final version running about 30 - 35MB for about 4:30 minutes long so the quality of both audio and video will be greatly improved.

How about the drum beat though, do you think I should be running quick fades to the beat or do you think that would screw up the feel of the video too much?

Thanks for your thoughts, i've never posted a WIP before, i'll have to do it alot more often for my future projects it adds alot to the experience.

And the free hosting fiasco makes me respect what Phade has created here all the more. <Begins setting up a Paypal account>

I hope more of you will give it a try, you might need to come back at later times, I exceed my hourly bandwidth pretty much every hour so thats a bit of a hassle. But i've found patience and persistance are a requirement for AMVs.

nah, you don't need to do it, I think in this sort of video emphasizing the beat too much can be distracting.
