Slayers Lina-centric video

Post by ReannaKing » Mon Apr 26, 2004 10:59 pm

Normally I don't announce new AMVs but I'm very proud of this one. It's pretty much an action/ drama video, and the video quality is quite good since everything is DVD-ripped.

It's to Luca Turilli's "Demonheart" and I think it's one of my best. Please do this tired gal a favor and check out what five months of labor have produced.

Hey, that's a decent Slayers video you got there. The song sort of skipped around 3:50, and the video quality was alright.

Thank you! *goes to check out your profile*
Yeah, the reason for that was a Premiere issue. I think a lot of us can relate to that. It amounted to me splitting up the video and importing it into WMM (uggh... reserved for ultimate last resort) and sticking it together, and that didn't happen as cleanly as I would have liked. Still, that bit is really pretty insignificant compared to the rest of the video.

That needs to be changed, but I got lazy to rate every AMV I downloaded.

HAHAHAHA....the guys from Rhapsody, Kamelot, and Dionysus all following under the banner of Luca Turilli. Never listened to them much but this song is a real killer and really fits well with SLAYERS - one of my all time favorite series.

First thing, what's with all the interlacing? Very bad, but easily fixed.
Second, I think it would have been better if you stuck with using either footage from the TV series or the Movies & OVAs. I know you wanted to show Lina in all her glory but the difference in quality is a little jarring. Personally, I would have liked it if you stuck with just the movies and ovas - her design is more interesting but I know there might not have been enough footage to work with given all the humor.

Speaking of which, I think there was a couple of comedy scenes that really didn't fit with the focus of this video. They seemed out of place with the "image" you were going for.

Strange I should be saying this but I think for this song there should have been more.... um, quick cuts to reflect the kinetic energy of the action. You've got rapid fire guitar thrashing going on in a few spots and the visuals are rather slow. Odd, I know but this might have been a case where that would have been cool.

I know you spent a long time on this but as it stands it's only slightly above average. A lot more could be done to make it really cool but that's just how I see it.

I applaud you for using other sources like Slayers: Gorgeous & Slayers: Return since nobody else seems to have, yet. It gives me a good idea how those films will look in an AMV as I have desperately been looking for a good idea to make a NAGA video. I have a "think" for her.

Sorry... I worked hard and just couldn't get the interlacing to go away. If you have any advice for that I'm willing to take it.
I'm sticking to my guns for using multiple Slayers sources, even though I'm feeling very depressed about its low rating... I thought it would do somewhat better than how it's done so far. I worked so hard...

~bitch~

She's royalty with a superiority complex that dresses like a slut. Well, it is her mother's outfit so being a "liberal woman" runs in the family. Can't say I love her personality but her attitude and sex appeal are a perfect contrast/compliment to Lina.
