Question: Has Hamlet ever been done in Anime??

If it has.. I wanna it.. cause I hate reading the play and the "modern" movies just make my head hurt. If I wanted the old english, I would read it!

Erm, can't recall Hamlet as an anime.

Now you can read Hamlet the manga. Er, actually it's the cast of Slayers attempts to put on the play. Uhm, just ignore the dialogue that's not on stage and you've got Hamlet. http://amethyst-angel.com/hamlet.htm

or u could watch the 70's movie. its not modern, and the damn thing is so funny. we are watching it in class now. the only thing is the 3 wyrd witchs get naked in it and thats just not a pretty site

I've seen american modern verisons of shakeshpere movies but not anime ones. Perhaps some inspired anime vrisons but not direct adaptions.

GO READ THIS NOW.
It's the funniest Slayers fic I've ever seen (and the artwork is insanely good). Everyone's kept impeccably in character, and the backstage happenings add to the fun a LOT.

Wasn't Throne of Blood, the Akira Kurosawa movie, an adaptation of Hamlet? If so, it's probably the closes thing you're going to get.

No, it was an adaptation of Macbeth. And Ran was an adaptation of King Lear.

So Slayers is it.. damn! (I'm not a huge fan of slayers!)

O well, I guess I will have to think up something else for my 10 minute project of Hamelt! ( I really wanted to show these back woods folks some anime, and then have them wonder what they just saw!)
