I don't mind long amv's but this is bordering on... Just much, much too long.
It had a good drama plot but the editing was so sparse in some places >< that it would just bore you, no matter how well it was edited.
Well.. Anyway, Good video, you get a nice grim feeling while watching it, and thats what I think you where aiming for.
Just took too long to get there.

I actually saw this before coming to the .org. Some huge ass +100 MB file as I recall. Hadn't realized it was yours.
Still THE Kenshin video in my opinion.
No happy happy stuff here.

Yeah, that was kicking around winmx for a long time as I was allways bumping people who wanted to dl that. The re-encodes are much smaller now. I made the original before i know what deinterlacing was. Converted DVD's to DIVX to edit with. Everyone was a newbie at some point. Even me
Thanks Madbunny. I think its pretty heavy myself. Straight....simple and to the point. I think it portrays the series pretty acurately. Which was pretty much the idea with it to begin with. I purposefully choose a long song for this as the vision that I wanted to create wasn't going to fit a normal length song. I'm glad to hear you like it. The ending of this video where the ghost apears and hugs kenshin still gives me chills. Between the imagry and the audio it just freakes me out to this day.
Voices of Ryan: What parts did you think were sparsely edited? I can guarentee that there were many edits all over the place. As far as the editing is concerned, there were quite a bit of fades going on that it doesn't really look like it was edited. There were many subtle scene changes so that certain events in the clips would sync up to the right places. Yeah, the clip itself might not have too many cuts in it, but that doesn't mean i left it alone. Good editing doesn't look like it was edited to begin with. Pretty much everything is synced to some beat. They just don't line up themselves
. Also the idea for this was to NOT have crazy cuts and whatnot. Which is why the editing is more subtle. I personally think too many editors feel they have to make these crazily edited videos for them to be any good. Just really not the case anymore. Especially with drama videos.
Thanks for the feeback guys.[/b]

I don't mind the slow editing, that wasnt the point (and yeah sometimes you couldnt tell the cuts, which is more than okay cause you're right, editing isnt always suppose to stand out).mckeed wrote:What parts did you think were sparsely edited? Man you're preaching to the choir here, I'm from the school of "less cuts, more drama" so I know what you mean.I personally think too many editors feel they have to make these crazily edited videos for them to be any good. Just really not the case anymore. Especially with drama videos.

But the problem is, it's 9 minutes... 9 minutes... Alotta stuff I could do in 9 minutes.
Not a bad video, just too me overly long.
