Different Town

Post by thistledown » Wed Apr 21, 2004 1:23 pm

I just completed my third video. It uses the 'different town' song from Strong Bad, and 10 different animes.

The file and write-up can be found at:

please tell me what you think.

Thanks. I'll probably start work on another one next week or so. Got a really bad pun in mind that I want to exploit.

I'm going to be perfectly honest with you; the video could have used much more work. First and foremost : the lip sync was off (and at some points there was none at all on the spoken lines). Second is the issue of the subtitles. Most of the series you used are available on DVD, and with ripping DVD footage that problem could be avoided altogether. Even with the ones that are not yet licensed, region 2 DVDs can be purchased. At the least, if raws were not available, letterboxing or cropping could have been used.
I'm not trying to put down the video at all, just giving some constructive criticism. While the idea and the scene selection were fairly good, a few more adjustments could certainly help.

Thanks. Let's see here. The only parts I was even atempting to lipsink was the very last line, that's why I marked it as such on the video's page. But I agree, that part was definatly off (stupid premiere).

I tried to rip some inuyasha off the dvd for it, but couldn't get it to work. Guess I'll go back and try tinkering with that some more for the next one. I thought about cropping the bottom, but wasn't sure which was worse: loosing part of the screen or subtitles.
