How come I keep getting php files when trying to download?

Either you right clicked-save as instead of hitting the 'local' button, or you have a download manager installed. Disable it if it's a download program. If it's not, then just click the local link and the download should start automatically.

I've never used msn, but I don't think it should matter. I take it you did left-click the button - and then a php file downloaded instead of it taking you to the actual download page?
If so, then I'd say check your internet settings - should be an option in the 'tools' if msn is anything like explorer. Other than messing with the settings, all I could suggest is to download one of the two links in that thread - I know Opera worked for a good week before failing when I tried it. It's just a replacement browser (like explorer). It doesn't hurt anything, so it should be worth a shot.
