Azumanga Daioh manga or the anime?

at was at my local anime store the other day and i saw Azumanga Daioh on both manga and dvd. and was wondering which would be the better buy. i know the manga is cheaper but i'm not the big reading type. even though i'm low on cash i've been meaning to check this out. any comments will do thanks.

WTH? Azumanga Daioh isn't supposed to come out on DVD until... uh... *checks www.animeondvd.com * April 27th.

Personally, I'm buying the DVDs and skipping the manga. I like the music and the voice acting, for one ... two things. And (not to start Teh Warz again) you can watch it in two languages, which is something you don't get with manga.

And supposedly it is the 27th. Pfft. I've already preordered, so it doesn't make much of a difference to me.

I got my Box with Volume 1 in the mail yesterday... and Volume 4 of the Manga the day before that.

If you ask me. Both. Cause... They are both friggin hilarious. You can appreciate the original manga form as well as the adopted Anime form. Both have some better traits than the other. However, I love AzD... so you can count my opinion as a Biased communist super left wing.... ok, just biased.

oh oh!! and-and, the collector pins you get with the box! OMG So cool. I can't wait to get the other ones!!!!!! OMGOMGOMG!!!! *passes out*

I prefer both, and Anime Castle mailed out their pre-orders and I got mine on Tuesday, word of warning, don't even attmpt to watch the dub, you'll be very angry, stick with original language track and subs, Chiyo-chan sounds like she is twenty and Osaka saunds like a Southern Belle from Mobile Alabama

Go with the anime, I saw a few episodes in japanese and its funny as hell and the anime brings out more of the characters movements and appeal then any manga would.

well thanks again. sometimes depending on the series i would buy the manga later on to seem how it compares. (like with breserk) but i will most likely when the time comes.

I think I like the manga more. I saw the first episode in english coz I got it from a Newtype magazine anyway the voices weren't as good as a thought the would be. I think the manga is funnier too.

Ahah! You answered my question of what they were going to do with Osaka's voice! I was figuring they'd give her the weird semi-New York-whatever they gave her in the manga... Wee!!
