Millennium Actress
What can I say about Millennium Actress? For one, it’s done by Satoshi Kon, who did Perfect Blue and Tokyo Godfathers (this came out before Tokyo Godfathers, however). And two, this movie is a masterpiece of film making.
This is the story of the life of an actress who disappeared at the height of her amazing film career. And really, that’s all you need to know about the story. I’m not going to tell you anything else at all about the plot, as I fear I would accidentally spoil part of this wonderful movie. So I’ll just go onto the other stuff. The story however is, a masterwork. As the actress’ story is told, it is presented through her movies, which besides mirroring her life, mirrors the history of Japanese film (but I would say that it goes far beyond that), and it is wonderfully told through the amazing animation style that was done for this film.
Everything about the film is top-notch, from the story, to the directing, to the music. It is all simply a pleasure to behold. You’ll laugh, and you’ll cry (and frankly, I can’t remember the last time I had cried after seeing a film. But this powerful film brought it out), and you will enjoy every minute of this film.
Wow, this is turning out to be a very short review, as I want to spoil as little as possible. So I guess I’ll end it here. I give Millennium Actress 5 out of 5 stars, as it is a great, powerful film (In fact, it’s my favorite film of all time), and on top of that, is suitable for a large variety of age groups (Although I don’t really recommend it for children as they will probably end up confused by it, and more than likely won’t be able to appreciate it). I highly recommend Millennium Actress to everyone, and you absolutely must see this film if you haven’t already.

Yo
I absolutely loved how everything started to fall into place with some EXCELLENT pre-planning clips to meld the way they had it. I was shocked!
It was almost like seeing an AMV of it within itself (to an extent of course).
When you see it you will know what I mean. Yeah, When you see it. Not 'if', no go... don't just stand there! GO! Get it you fool!
