But my recommendations would be

Anything by Yoshitoshi ABe
Serial Experiments Lain
Niea_7
Haibane Renmei
Technolyze

And I would also recommend anything Patlabor

hm... Try the recommend anime post, there are a lot of good animes there. but if you don't have a lot of access to anime but can dl, you should try to dl using bitTorrent. go to animesuki.com got a good list a anime, however not domesticated ones but some are fairly new from Japan. ^_^ you can be on top of anime from Japan. like Hunter X Hunter or Naurto and others.

well, if that stuff appeals to you, by all means, watch it:)

Rather than repeat a lot of titles that everyone has already posted, im not going to give you a spiel on shows i like. just watch everything you can get your hands on, even if its crap.

and watch it in japanese. imo, most dubjobs dont do the job right. besides, you learn the language the more you watch.
