What's with this long, stupid process anyway?

Funny how I already addressed nearly everything you people said.
1.) So you bought the DVDs and everything. Wow. You still don't own the material, it's copyrighted. If you were to, say, sell your MVs, you could easily be sued for reuse of their material. You don't own them.
2.) Yes, I'm aware this is a large community with a large hosting fee, so why doesn't the community act more like one and chip in if that's what they want? I know of plenty of sites that don't pay for any of their own hosting, everyone who partakes in the community pays of their own will, they aren't forced into it. If I were an active member here, and enjoyed my place, I'd gladly donate.
There's just something about forcing donations on people that tells me they don't get too many willing contributors. Besides, like Rage_Sasami, people can't always donate.
3.) You cannot possibly berate me for "Costing" Phade money by posting. If he didn't want to have anything to do with any loss of money, why would he put this whole thing up, forums and all? It's like buying a bag of chips to put in a bowl on the table for guests, then yell at them and charge them for eating any.
It's like he's saying "I'm giving you this, so you have to give something back". While this is a perfectly legitimate and acceptable process (real life stores), why create that block? I'm not complaining that I don't get things for free, I just don't see why people have been cloving the anime society in half more and more over the years.
I'm sure most of you remember the 'golden days' (Well, maybe not)? There's no reason to not want those back. Everybody won, and everybody was close.
"No one gave a fuck who subbed what because it was such a glorious act of kindness towards the growing otaku crowds."~Evasource
If you want anything I have, paid for or not, I'll gladly share out of my own pocket. That's how it should work again, I help out, you help out, and it goes in a round circle.
Sure, it works in both cases, but really, what happened to the old ways? Remember when you could just search and find what you wanted without having to dig through auto-URL changing links of porn, advertising, and other trash? People going out of their way to spread what they love, purely because they love it, and when everyone does that, everyone benefits. It's called a potlach system.
Now take a look at some of your other assumptions. I've skipped over a few because if you bothered to put two and two together from my post, you'd have come to the logical conclusion that would have already answered answered your point (Some of them I even specifically said an explained, way to revoke nothing).
You think I actually came here expecting anything to change? I mean, I'm already completely in an environment where everyone disagrees, simply proven by the fact that you frequent this place. It would be like an animal rights activist going to an animal skin fashion show and telling them they're all wrong. Not to mention I'd have thrown more than a haphazard, crappy 'argument' together.
Just wanted to protest a bit towards the way things have been going, maybe hoping people might remember. I weep for the future of the anime society.
Oh well, I've killed some time, fulfilling my original goal. Twelve days left. If you want to revoke what I've said, feel free, but just a heads up I won't be checking back here again. Yeah, big waste bringing it up and all around this type of people. Well, I tried. Farewell golden era.
Bla hab lha bal hlab end long, boring post.

Wait... what's the problem?
You can download anything you want, just by waiting two weeks? You have to click an extra button to do so? I think you're wasting MORE of your time by typing this asinine nonsense. Don't you have anything better to be doing... like... watching a music video? Editing a music video?
Gets my vote for lamest thread of the year.

Someone can't handle a few extra pages pop by and wait two weeks to access hundreds of hours of AMV's for free.
It continues to strike me as odd how demanding people can get about a service they get for absolutely nothing at all.
Don't pay, don't complain. And if you donate - watch those little quirks disappear

How else did you plan to get everyone to donate?
There IS no "block". You don't HAVE to give ANYTHING. You just get some perks if you do.asdfasdfasdfadsf wrote:It's like he's saying "I'm giving you this, so you have to give something back". While this is a perfectly legitimate and acceptable process (real life stores), why create that block?
What is to weep for where the Org is concerned? What we have here is a catalog of most of the AMVs in existence, with tons of information, search capabilities, rankings, and links to those videos made by people who can afford to host them. And if that's not enough, we've even got a whole dedicated AMV server for those who can't get or don't have their own hosting. Thanks to this site, finding videos and creators is easier than it's ever been.asdfasdfasdfadsf wrote:Just wanted to protest a bit towards the way things have been going, maybe hoping people might remember. AND IT'S FREE.
All you have to do is sign up.
I don't know about you, but I think that's a pretty sweet deal from the fan's point of view.
And need I remind you (again) that, just a year ago, there was no 2-week waiting period to download locally hosted videos... because local hosting for videos didn't exist yet?
I think it's safe to say that this site has done more to facilitate the spread of AMVs in the past few years than any other. We've got tens of thousands of videos listed, and over 100,000 satisfied members... with more of each every day.
This place is going places.
And that is not something to weep over.

Just leave. We don't need all this negativity from little impatient pricks. God forbid Phade try to supply entertainment for masses.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

The "Golden Days" are a myth. I don't mean of anime, I mean in general. The concept of the good old days has existed a thousand times in a thousand diferent cultures. It is human nature to glorify the past. If they all really were better then that doesn't look too good for for the future now does it?asdfasdfasdfadsf wrote: I'm sure most of you remember the 'golden days' (Well, maybe not)? Not all change is bad but it is human nature to see it as so.

Yeah it has my vote too at the moment. However, there are quite a few other lame ones I've seen this year...interesting yearVegettoEX wrote:Gets my vote for lamest thread of the year.
