Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

OK guys, let's stick to comments on the video.

Paulo: Don't worry. One day you'll learn to not bite when Cat gives out his flame bait. Take it in your stride... eventually you may notice that those posts are actually very funny :)

Cat: just try and keep them out of video announcements made by new members, ok? :)

Ok AD , well sorry if I misundertood something , but that problem with new members  , I just can't keep my mouth shutted

*BACK ON TOPIC *

I saw your vid MR MAkaveli
, well , I like the song choice , and some of the lyrics sync , but unfortunately , to make AMVs , would be better if you choose shorter songs , or edit the song to make it shorter , because , yeah 8 minutes it's a bit too long , and I guess that problem with the duration of the song makes you run some clips for too long , shorter songs with faster editing it's something that I recommend you to your future vids.

One more thing , you've forgeted to deinterlace your clips , since you're using WMM , I recommend you to deinterlace your footage when you encode the clips from the VOB files , but if you figure out how to change WMV to a video file that virtua dub can read , you can erase that problem with better results. ^^
Nothing usefull here .

i tried to deinterlace the movie file but it wouldnt let. It said something about a patent problem so i couldnt do it but believe me i tried. Also I wanted to get the full feel of the song so i didnt cut it and thats why it was so long.

Wow, that video gave me a lot more than I expected.

Your video quality is a little variable, but that's the only glaring problem I can see.

I agree with you completely that songs do not deserved to get cut up for the purpose of the video. And despite the fact that you had eight and a half minutes to deal with, I think you did a pretty good job of it. The first seven minutes, and even the guitar solo are slow, but after the guitar solo, your video breaks the chains and picks up. I suppose most people would criticize you for having a ridiculously long introduction to the high-speed action, but I think that having a longer slow sequence makes the fast-paced sections more powerful.

My only personal complaint is that we never got to see Spike's famous "Bang." I think it would have fit in well at the end.

Still, a thumb and a half up.

I know. I'm a fucking comedic genius.

How I got my footage for this was I ripped individual episodes from my DVD's. Then using DVD2avi I created a d2v document. After this I had to use VPavi because AVIsynth does NOT work on my computer. After creating the avi I used WMM to create an episode of this movie because if i didnt the the movies would run together. All this would take me at least 2 hours per episode of Trigun and Cowboy Bebop.

Hey there, one common mistake resulting in low resolution of video clips is running them through multiple processes ............as you compress them to something different you lose quality and if you keep changing their format the result is what you see so obviously the way to use the clips is as untouched as possible......personally we only uncompress the peices we need for a video. But you will need at least 20 to 40 gigs of free space on your HD. One easy way to do it is to use DVD Decrypter and then either DVD2AVI but one of my new favs is MPEG Mediator, an awesome file converter. Well we hope this helps you out.

Try using DVD2AVI and change it to Divx and cut it up in Virtual Dub. Then change it to whatever format you are going to use for editing the video together. Btw, what format of clips do you use and what editing program are you using?
