J.Alana wrote:That is your opinion and your welcome to it. I myself know how hard I worked on this vid and attempted things I've never done before in any video so yes, I am proud of the result.

You are one opinon but many have said that they love the vid and that's fine by me too.

I expected that some would love it and some would not like it for one reason or another. My intention here was not to make a video all about timing or all about direction. I wanted to combine both effects and direction to bring about something very unique that I have never attempted before. I personally feel I succeeded in my task. The background imagery was to convey emotion and feeling through light and color and really do something unique.

I knew that some of the noobs knowing how they make their vids with the Timing philosphy would rip the vid to shreads and I expected it but like it or hate it its your call.

Seeing as you have one vid in your profile and a vid I have to say is big on timing, quality but lacks sorely on direction and who's effects are sloppy I'd say that hardly defines you as an expert. Now I'm not calling you a noob, I'm just saying that different people have different ways of prsenting a story or purpose. And in my view you had great timing but lacked on the direction and the transitions were a bit annoying. Yet still for all intensive purposes it was a good vid.

Remember this, all because one person doesn't like a vid doesn't neccessarily mean its a bad vid it just means its not your type of vid and there is no concrete way to make a vid in any particular fashion. It is the child of imagination and creativity and it can be anything you want to be. Rules are for breaking and when it comes to vids, there are none.

Just a little something for you to think about.
Hmm..you really don't want to start arguing with me, :) but to address some points, I felt the need to respond once more.

First off why did you type all of this? I directly statedin my above post that it was just my opinion and that you shouldn't care whether others like it so much or not, but rather if you like it or not. You took that premise and just wrote pretty much the same thing, just in longer form and bashing me somewhat.

Secondly, had you actually read my video information I come right out and say I don't like my own vid. I believe it's a poor representation of my true skill as an editor. I also state that it was an iron chef! Assuming that you don't know what that is, (and in such made a somewhat ignorant comment) it is where you are handed a random song and random anime to make a music video to in a given amount of time. Knowing that, I'm sure you could have drawn the conclusion that, "lacks sorely on direction," was mainly due to it being a random song that I had no control over, whatsoever. If you don't believe me, just think about the song and try to correlate it with Bebop. They basically have nothing in common and there was really no way for me to tell much of a story.

Thirdly, you stated, "I knew that some of the noobs knowing how they make their vids with the Timing philosphy would rip the vid to shreads..."

To just later say, "Seeing as you have one vid in your profile and a vid I have to say is big on timing.......Now I'm not calling you a noob.." does that not seem to bash me while at the same time being quite contradictory?

And lastly, you said, "Remember this, all because one person doesn't like a vid doesn't neccessarily mean its a bad vid it just means its not your type of vid and there is no concrete way to make a vid in any particular fashion. It is the child of imagination and creativity and it can be anything you want to be. Rules are for breaking and when it comes to vids, there are none." Please reread what you typed right there, then go and read my post before this. Did you notice, that they say the same thing just diffrent word usage? So why are you trying to argue against me if you are blatantly agreeing with me here? Was this intended to be some way of getting back at me because I disliked your vid? As I have stated before, and so have you for that matter, it is my opinion and it shouldn't matter whether I like it or not, yet you seem to feel the need to defend yourself over nothing.

But, I beleive you said it best, "Just a little something for you to think about."

I was not arguing with you. Merely stating a point. I find you to be a very articulate and intellligent person and I enjoyed the points you made.

I can understand your point and I respect it. Also, yes I do know what iron chef is and its a good contest. I never said I disliked your vid. I just said that the direction and transitions were off a bit but overall I felt it was good.

No, I did not mean any ill will nor did I try to get back at you for anything you said.

To each their own and that's fine by me.

Yet, you made some excellent points. I'm impressed ;)

well for starters, let's address the winamp style special effect going on in the background

for or against?

personally, i liked it, it was a good complement to the video, although sometimes the pictures were combined with the background and i had trouble seeing it, overall i'm for the effects, good happy hippie mood :D
If you're reading this, you've gone too far...PREPARE FOR RETRIBUTION!!
