Anime Music Video Distribution

A friend of mine was comtemplating distributing anime music videos on a dvd at anime conventions. I was wondering if there were any real problems the anime music video producing community would have with this.

I doubt any of the editors would have a problem with it, considering they post their AMVs on the internet, hoping for people to download.

It'll just take an assload of DVDs if you want to distribute to all people in the AMV viewing room at different cons. i.e., lots of money.

If he sells the discs, then people would probably have a problem with it.

Well giving the expense of dvd's I expect they will end up being sold, but as during our discussion we did discuss giving cedit to those who made the anime, and those who made the videos. But I think any sales would be to cover the price of the dvd & any insert giving credits.

Yes, when I was talknig of "profits" I really meant "profits", that is, extra money not covering the costs.
Of course In my opinion it is normal to get back the money it cost for the DVDs and printed stuff. But I know people may disagree with that...

Or, you can make profits, but, say, donate them to the .org.

Although I don't know if all creators would want that... but I would.
