After viewing the question, rap group Westside Connection's Terrorist Threats album imediately came to mind. To me, its a highly underrated album that deserves much, much more recognition. On the album, there a few songs that attacks the current fads as well as bringing back the shock value that hard rap once had. To me, the whole album is very good and is the most satisfying cd that i have purchased in a long time. Here's a couple songs that attacks and shocks with a few lyrics excerptsbum wrote:so what do people think of "anti modern hiphop" songs, such as paparazzi by xibit and step up by linkin park (unreleased track, PM me for the bit torrent link) ? i realy love them, but thoughs two are the only ones ive heard. does anyone know any more of theys type of songs ?
Most rap is simply a glorified bragging game of why one person is superior than the other if you want to think of it that way. Even Sugar Hill Gang bragged about riding Cadillacs in "Rapper's Delight," if you listened closely enough. Although, I think the main reason why modern rap lyrics contain all listed above is because it is a formula that works with the public, and will continue to work as long as there's a big name behind it, and it has a beat that you can move to in the clubs.Vlad86 wrote:Rap lyrics seem to always be about:
A. Bitches, Hoes etc.
B, Something sex related
C. Money, fame, expensive stuff, "bling bling",
E. Shiny cars, expensive cars, cars with 20" or bigger rims
Well, not all rap, but a bigger chunk than there should be.
Someone said that rap is very expressive of one's soul.
Man, some peoples souls seem really deep![]()

I know Anarchy didn't fit the thread theme, I just posted it cause I like it. From what I've heard of KMFDM, I like it.ithaqua wrote:Dude, Anarchy is like totally one of the crappiest KMFDM songs. 8)
Sucks is closer to the attitude being looked for here.
