oh, okIcyCloud wrote:No, it's not related at all to the main story. They included it because it's from the same creator. It's just a short about the everyday life of a cat and its owner, told through the cat's perspective. Only about five minutes long, but it was a good extra.
As for extending the main feature by the creator, i guess thats a no ...

So this anime (Voice of a distant star) isnt gonna be made anylonger and
is gonna stay they way it is ... right ...

hmmm
The different versions of the 5 minute tale is pointless. 5 minutes is short enough, a 2 minute version is just rediculous. But the full version is quiet touching.
Voices of a Distant Star, in my opinion, was worth my money. I have seen a lot worse and a lot more of it too. So VoaDS is pretty good.
I can't go without saying this, even if it is a spoiler... I wouldn't read it if you haven't seen VoaDS, as it would ruin the entire thing for you:

*sigh*It kills me to think that in the time between when she left and died, he would not recieve her last message for what? 20 years? Even then he would not know of her demise. To wait that long... I can't help but feel sorry for him even if he isn't real. On the other side of the same coin, her story is no less painful. Dying that far from everything she ever knew, at that age too. Makes you wonder if her existence will ever be recognized even if in some sort of memorial on Earth.

i'm gonna buy it, i rented it at blockbuster out of curiosity (and recommandation from a friend) and liked it, especially the cat short
and since then, i saw Koop's video Through Time, Through Space, i knew i had to buy the movie (one of my favorite amvs now)
i think buying Movies is better than buying Serieses most of the time, if ur debating about buying an ongoing series, or buying a movie, i think the obvious answer would be to buy the movie because it's a one-time deal, you buy it once and don't have to wait for anything else, if you buy the series instead of the movie, then you might not get the whole series due to cost and/or availability and it just seems to make more sense to get the movie seen and out of the way and then use the rest of ur time to watch the series
(this is assuming that the movie and series are NOT related, because in the case of the movie being a summary of the series... i would obviously buy the series first... or which ever came first... including if the manga came first, but this is not the time to get into all the purchasing specifics... though i already took up a couple of lines doing it
