EVA QUESTION!

Eva-03 was what blew up in the Nevada desert during the S2 Engine experiment.

Eva-04 was what Touji piloted. It didn't have an imprint of anybody - it was an Angel.

I knew what they meant... they said Toji's Eva.

When they built it, one would have assumed they used an imprint.

I am not convinced that people KNEW that Unit 04 was actually an Angel until it actually revealed its true colors.

Since it had a plug like any other EVA. I believe that they used the imprint in the creation of Unit 04, but that imprint never mattered because Unit 04 became the Angel... and thus didn't need an imprint or a pilot.

SEELE knew it was an Eva, and from what I understand NERV itself only controlled the Tokyo-3 branch of the whole conspiracy. There was one in Matsushiro, Germany (Hamburg and Berlin), China (in Beijing), and America (one which blew up in Nevada and one in Massachusettes sp?).
The locations I got from the scene in EoE/Rebirth when the various other MAGI computers are hacking into the Original MAGI. If you freeze frame it they list the locations of the other MAGI.
Anyways my impression was NERV was running the Tokyo-3 bureau. SEELE was overseeing all of the various bureaus, and they were the ones who had the Dead Sea Scrolls that decribe the various angels. They knew that Eva4 was gonna turn into an Angel, but NERV didn't. Thus who knows if it was ever imprinted, or if it was planned to happen that way (the same way SEELE planned ahead by sending Kaworu to NERV).

I agree with you... SEELE knew it was going to transform.

I certainly knew that Gendo was unaware of what SEELE was doing...

but I'm confused... I thought ALL of it was NERV. I mean... I thought that the base in Germany and the base in Ameica were all part of NERV... and that Gendo was in charge of NERV and took his orders from SEELE.

I had assumed that the Tokyo-3 base was the NERV HQ, but that all the other branches were just extensions of NERV (like any other company)

Anyway... I guess that's all besides the point.

If SEELE didn't want anyone to know that THEY knew something was up (like an EVA turning into an Angel), wouldn't they have still put the imprint into the EVA? I mean... if all those kids were supposed to be pilots, wouldn't they have gotten the imprints and stored them?

I just assume SEELE would have has America follow the standard procedures for constructing the EVA, even though most of that effort would be wasted.

Just my thoughts on that...

Hmm I'm not sure if Unit 04 was an angel right from the begining, didn't it get infected while it's air transport flew into a cloud while in transit from US to Tokyo-3? (Note the lightning storms).

Actually, I'm pretty sure that it was 04 that blew up in Nevada, and 03 that became Bardiel. I was also under the impression that it was "infected" when it flew through that cloud. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, EVA-04 was the one that imploded NERV-02. EVA-03 was the Thirteenth Angel. You guys get your facts straight!
