Good editing but this video didn't really do anything for me. I didn't care for the flashes either... They were... excessive.

Right on! Trail of Dead :D I met them a couple times when I lived in Austin. Cool bunch of guys :) Great song too!

As Corran said, the white flashes just don't do much for me. They're just too much too fast. I realize that you wanted something going on with the aggresive beat, but that just didn't seem to work out, at least not on my end. But from 1:04 on, it's QUITE good! I love your profile of Lala Ru and Sarah. It was quite moving, reaching it's pinnacle at 2:20, which really gave me goosebumps (a definite good thing). There were some kind of distracting video quality problems here and there, but nothing too major.

All in all, it's a keeper :) And way to go for picking a great band/song!

Ahhhh, yeah, I remember you mentioned you were making an NTHT video. Awesome. \m/ I'm a drama nut and I've liked most of your other videos, so I've got high hopes for this one. Though I would rather see a good NTHT video surrounding Sarah rather than La La Ru and Shu... oh well. I'll get back to you after I watch it.

/me stops current download ^_^

Thanks for replying, you guys.

Yeah, I was worried about how the continuous the white flashes were. But I really loved how fast-paced those parts of the song were, and I didn't know how else to make the video go as fast as the song. There's not a lot of movement in NTHT, so I couldn't exactly do fast action-syncing like in Shining Collection. It's just what I thought should be done at those parts. Sorry if it's too much.

I like this song too. :) I was lucky enough to find Trail of Dead's album at my public library of all places, so I got to listen to the rest of their songs too. I didn't like some of their songs, but this one and a couple others remain cool.

Thanks again for the comments, everyone!

Well, I'm not sure what to say. On one hand, it was awesome. On the other, it wasn't very good. :? I thought the effects and sync throughout the whole video were awesome.

And the slow parts of the song were amazing, better than I've seen in many videos. Very dramatic.

But the fast parts felt really lacking. On top of that, I didn't like the song much at all (except for the slow parts), so I'm sure that's a part of it. It wasn't that the flashes got annoying, because those didn't bug me in the slightest, it just felt really lackluster.

On the whole, I'd say it's a good video. The clip selection was great, and you pulled off the concept perfectly. However, the fast parts bring this video down a few notches in my eyes. And, yeah, they are good for contrasting the slow parts... but I still didn't like 'em. :? You still remain one of my favorite editors. ^_^

Now that video was great. I enjoyed it.

Totally true. If this flashing wouldn't be there these scnenes would fell out of the pace.

Now I really have to watch this anime.

i agree to a degree, the faster parts were different, not as well done clip-wise (i guess) as the slow dramatic part in the middle, but i think that because the flashes were there, if she had done more with the fast scenes, it would have made the video overwhelming imo

so i think you gotta weight ur options, and not have too much of either fast editing or digital effects

i think you did a great job with what you had to work with.. song-wise more than anime-wise, cause NTHT has a lot in it

ditto... character development and all that good stuff kept in mind
If you're reading this, you've gone too far...PREPARE FOR RETRIBUTION!!
