Ripping PS2 without dvd drive?

Post by ShadowInc » Tue Feb 17, 2004 1:24 pm

Hey! Is there a way to rip Final Fantasy X encrypted DVD videos without the use of a DVD rom? I have a program and was able to locate the videos, but then I could not rip them! If this is not a possibility, then is there a site online where I could download these amazing videos? I need them, and I will not have access to a DVD writer/drive until late April!!! Please help me :!: :!: :!:

Well, if the game is mastered on a DVD, you're not going to be able to load it on your computer in the first place, nevermind rip it...

I'm fairly sure there are some PS2 games that were released on good ol' CD, unless I'm crazy (which is entirely possible). Maybe that's what you're talking about... ? It would probably be done in the same way, if that's the case. Castor typed up a really nice guide to doing so... don't have the link handy, but I'm sure it's high-up in a forum somewhere.

The quote "Blue bottomed" cd's are the one's incase, and 99% of the time they where sports games to save money for the company (army men, madden, etc).

But yes, they are basicly regular cd's along the lines of the "Black bottomed" Psx cd's.

You might as well wait till late April then.

You could find the movies with a little searching but I don't think you'd want a highly compressed divx file with some site's logo in the bottom right corner. :?

Dvd-rom = $32
Final Fantasy X = $20

And SquareEnix would be on you so fast, you couldn't even get a breath in before you're sitting in front of the judge wondering why there's FMV's distributing on the internet...

They jumped on a small website for distirbuting Chrono Cross mp3's when it first came out.

So yeah, he's probably right.

Don't use FF clips off the internet for your video. That's what I did, and now whenever I watch my FF vids I want to make them again with footage that is ripped from the game, just to see them in higher quality.

While you wait for your DVD player, you could spend all that time planning out your video so you can make it ten times better than if you just rushed into it as soon as possible.
