I know who Evanescence is, and I still think they are WAY TOO ANGSTY for Gravi. Even Yuki isn't that screamingly angsty. Very few things are THAT EXTREMELY ANGSTY, and Gravi, a fluffy little soap opera about a pop star - for crying out loud - certainly isn't one of them, IMO.
So I'll have to agree to disagree with that.
Anyway, I'm sure there are already 80 Evanescence/Gravi vids; there are at least 80 Evanescence vids to every anime already.

Except YYH. ;pSarahtheBoring wrote:Anyway, I'm sure there are already 80 Evanescence/Gravi vids; there are at least 80 Evanescence vids to every anime already.
I don't care if I'm dubbed a noob or not - I fully intend to make a YYH vid to one of their songs if someone else doesn't hurry up and do it first. There is one song of theirs that just fits my favorite pairings from that anime (all shonen ai, of course) and unless someone else volunteers to make it (and make it well - according to my tastes), I'll do it.
I know there are lots of vids for the band, but the good ones are rare - and even on the off chance that someone *does* make a vid using the story from YYH that I long to watch, I doubt they'll do it so that it satisfies me. That's the problem with over-used songs - if you like them and have strange taste in stories, the only way to have a vid you enjoy is to make it yourself regardless of the song's reputation. But that'll probably be my last video, so it won't matter too much. ^_^;;
I'll wait till the last minute before breaking down and using something I know will get me as much flack as making a dbz/lp vid.

Oh, it's not the making of Evanescence vids that annoys me, it's the way people have of assuming that it fits everything, absolutely perfectly. It seems to be like a musical inkblot; people read what they want into it, and apply it to everything.
I don't have objections to thinking that it fits something in particular, for a particular reason, but "omg this music is good and sad and it fits everything on earth" gets really tiring after a while. That's all.
But then, maybe they just don't know any other dramatic music, and in that case just need to hear some other stuff.

Heh, that was the cause for my thread about alternatives to it - my muse (the person who usually recommends songs to me) thought of their songs immediately. And since I haven't heard enough 'other' stuff I had to get recs for similar 'mood' but different concepts. The mood might fit any angsty idea, but the lyrics are another matter - and I'm usually big on lyric sync. ^.^SarahtheBoring wrote:I don't have objections to thinking that it fits something in particular, for a particular reason, but "omg this music is good and sad and it fits everything on earth" gets really tiring after a while. eh? Never seen it, but I can get a mental image. I haven't watched commercial TV in a couple of years now.

If anyone's got a screencap of that beast, I'd imagine it could be fun to see.
