Naruto....the next DBZ??

Whats more scarier would be little narutos running around screaming "Sexy Skill (Oiroke no Jutsu)!!"

Though, I bet CN or whoever would get Naruto (most likely CN) would not have that technique in there.

Naruto would be edited severely in the early parts of the series if it was ever released on Cartoon Network because of the Oiroke no Jutsu ... kids would be like ooooh ... naked gurl .... ...

Okay. I know this is a little late to comment on, but wasn't the sexy no jutsu Naruto's special or something? I know some adult ninja character commented on it at some point. Would it still be the same show if they censored it? What about the one guy that summons frogs and writes adult novels? It wouldn't be the same story if they censored it, would it?

Well knowing how much editing CN and all the other networks that show anime. They will definitely edit those things out and figure something out to make it seem that those episodes never exsisted. Its a sad fact of life that they do that, but thats y i dont watch anime series on CN because i kno im not getting all of it. I just do borrow the dvd o go out and buy it. It much better that way.

As far as the story would go, i dont think it will be the same, but the main theme of naruto would still be the same ... "I will become a Hokage ..."

I just finish readin this entire thread. OMG. I have to say, it is really no contest between Dragonball and NAruto.
For starters, NAruto is about ninjas and "actual" fighting skills. WIth your occasional comic relief.
Dragonball, started off as a story about making wishes; then just turns out to be a bunch of anime characters drawn with muscles to the yin yang, and shooting fireballs... What's up with that? Bad Guy, fireball, another bad guy, FIREBALL... it gets so predictable... no real story but to destroy monster and save the world. It's like pokeman, every episode is: TEAM ROCKET wants to steal pikachu... oh no we can't... next EPISODE, giant robot to steal pikachu....
NARUTO has a kickass story, hella good fight sense, but some of them don't last as long, and it's really alot of talking, but it's good, because you watch for the story, not just non-stop fighting.
Ladies and gentlemen, NARUTO is what anime's should be! A character with hidden power... a character that has a goal... Actual fighting techniques and skills, and fighting stradegy...
The manga is already on Chapter 202... the teh TV show is heading towards 70+...
So you cna't really compare NAruto to Dragonball, because it's in a completly new league.
We were into dragonball because of the fireballs, and cool looking characters... but now we have a show you can expand your mind to, and actually have something to talk about the show with your friends.
Do you remember dragonball convo's?
"Oh, doens't Trunks look cool..."
"Wow new villian"
"Super Sayian"
That is the pass... now you can talk about more like, how they fight, combo's, special techniques, the different country's, The illusions... hella stuff my friends...

It kind of depends...

If they opt to run it on AS, there's the chance they may leave the Sexy No Jutsu as is (after the infamous brothel ep of Lupin III, the Sexy No Jutsu would be pretty tame by comparison)

Nicely put i guess, even though it took me like 5 mins. to read it all. I like how u said that naruto has a story line that sticks compared to DBZ. It does have an excellent story behind it. Every fighing scene, the characters has a new move that they learned. So its not as predicable as DBZ would be, in dbz, u kno that everytime they fight, they will all go into supersayen mode and then fight. But naruto, the fighting scenes are more realistic and can almost be somewat be done in real life, they arent as predicable, thats another reason i like naruto soo much ...

Yeah, true that. If CN does put it in AS, they they might just edit only a few things and leave the Sexy no Jutsu. Its not that showy anyways, the only problem is when little kids watch it and the parents are offended by the material. That is y they should edit it if they want to show it on CN for the little kids to see.

Agreed. The difference between a show targeted for the 13+ demographic (as Naruto is, and is enjoyable even by adults), and a show targeted for 8+ (as stupid companies like 4kids seem to think these are) is massive. Naruto has a lot of thematic elements rooted in the consequences of the action that takes place (and some of the greatest comedy in the "action" too. ). To cut that would cripple Kishimoto's message to the young'uns, and leave those of us who were looking for cool story patterns scratching our heads.

actually....that's alot like DBZ. Im not defending DBZ in any way (I hate DBZ as much as the next person...maybe even more).

Gohan has a hidden deep power, Goku's goal is to defend earth, Vageta's goal is to be stronger then Goku's, the DBZ characters do use some real fighting skills and strategy's.

I like Naruto but it's not my favorite type of anime. It's cool and all but I like Samurai/Space types better...or Futuristic.

Nothing should be edited, simple as that.

Im guessing that you never read the opening of the topic as it stated Naruto to be the next DBZ in popularity in AMVs and worldwide eventually. NOT, story or characters cause its obvious that Naruto rules over it since DBZ sucks ass. ((if your wondering y i have this name look back about the irony bit))
