Whoa whoa whoa.

Premiere can <i>frameserve?</i>
Heh, I probably phrased it wrong, but according to DJ Izumi, s/he frameserves the footage to Premiere in order to avoid using large energy-draining clips. I admit, I have no idea what s/he was talking about since I don't use Premiere, but you might check the thread if you're curious - I know that's not the first time I'd heard someone refer to doing that. Just go to Squall's 'view all posts' and it's one of the first ones. ^.~

I believe Izumi is using AVS script directly in her editor. As apposed to creating scripts then running them through Virtual Dub as huffyuv avi's.She has the vobs still on her hard drive and edits them through Avisynth.

(Did that make any sense at all?)

Oh, never mind then. That's how I edit too.

I thought we were talking about frameserving <i>from</i> Premiere.

This can be done too with Avisynth but for some odd reason the plugins i have found for it don't want to work with version 2's of AVisynth.I tried getting older versions of both but to no avail. You can get a frameservering program from www.videotools.net but it puts a banner on your video which sucks horibly. If anyone does know how to frameserve out of Premiere please send an E-mail my way becasue i would love to know how.

Premire can frameserve. I don't know how to do it though premire as i use avisynth to frameserve into it. This would be using premire to frameserve into a third party compressor after you edited, but i see no real need to do this as i can't imagine premire doing a good job at all. Lossless huffy is fine as i got plenty of HD space. Plus its faster anyway. Its probally in the manual. I'm in class so i can't look it up, but i wouldn't recommend doing it anyway.

back on topic, if you have all the footage you want on DVD, you don't need a TV Device, unless you want to take stuff from, say, cartoon network or something.

well, i have no experience with TV Devices, but the guides will tell you how to get footage from your DVD into a useable format (no extra hardware needed other than your DVD-rom).

My question is what other hard ware should i get like sound crard, video capture card, ect... I want to thank any one in advance for ther help.

As many have recommended, I strongly suggest a DVD-ROM as well as the large hard-drive you have planned. If you rip DVDs instead of capture, you should be good with just those two.

The editing may be a little slower since the Celeron is a budge chip, but with the AVS-MJPEG replacement method, you should be good. If you don't know what that is, I suggest using the guides or asking any of us. I'm sure most of us will gladly help.

Good luck!
